Located in the residential complex of Cala Caterina, it is a few km from the center of the lively Villasimius. On foot you can reach two wonderful coves where you can go snorkelling and the beautiful beach that is part of the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area. The tourist port of Villasimius is located a few hundred meters away, where you can stroll among shops, bars and restaurants. At the port it is possible to book excursions that will allow you to visit unexplored areas of the south coast of Sardinia. You will reach Cala Caterina by car proceeding on the road to the Riso beach, passing the marina and the Old Fortress: after parking, you will walk a long stretch. The cove is one of the infinite 'protected' jewels of the marine area of Capo Carbonara, in the territory of Villasimius, a dream tourist resort, pearl of southern Sardinia. The coast is made up of a 'crown' of beaches, interspersed with cliffs. Starting from Capo Boi, the southern limit of the protected marine area, you will find, along the panoramic road, the beaches of Porto sa Ruxi, Campus and Campulongu, all characterized by blue sea and white sand dunes. Near the inhabited center, there is the very particular Riso beach, which differs from the others by the 'grains' that make it up. On the eastern side, prepare to discover breath-holding pearls, starting from Porto Giunco, with the Notteri pond behind, the habitat of the pink flamingo. Going north, there are the beaches of Simius and Traias, and continuing Rio Trottu and Manunzas, which surround the wonderful Punta Molentis. From Capo Boi to the island of Serpentara, passing through the Cavoli island and through various shallows, the marine area offers submerged shows, including wrecks from all eras lying on the bottom.
