The Cottage @ Red Gate Farm- Horse & Wine Country!

**Pool open May-Sept (dates TBD). PRIVATE 3 hours pool time daily. Horses, Wine, and Country Living! The Cottage is located on a 250 acre horse farm. Red Gate Farm is a full-service, upscale equestrian center, containing the Cottage, original farm house and outbuildings. Convenient to Middleburg and Purcellville, you have the splendor of being surrounded by the Blue Ridge mountains, wineries, breweries, and hiking, with horses right at your doorstep. All in the beautiful town of Bluemont. The driveway to the property welcomes you with a century-old stone wall, rows of aged maples, and horses on both sides. The long driveway leads you past the old milking parlor and the modern equestrian center, to the Cottage. The 250 acre property is perfect for walking/hiking and visiting the horses and ponies. There are many varieties of beautiful trees and flora, including Eastern Hemlock, Roses, Daffodils, Blueberries, Cherry, Fig, Rhododendron, and Boxwood. The landscaped pool was nestled into an old bank barn foundation and is included in the price. You will have time scheduled daily to use the pool exclusively. ( schedule will be worked out with owner). Completely renovated in 2019, The Cottage is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home that sleeps 4 people on the main level. The master bedroom has a queen size bed with en suite, and the guest room has twin size beds. The Cottage features custom, yet charming accents such as granite countertops, Restoration Hardware deep leather couches, and crafted furniture and wood trim created from 100-year old onsite barn wood, and locally milled wood for siding. There is a fire pit and hammock adjacent to the Cottage for your use. Bring S'mores! Ideal for a family, 2 couples, or a girls weekend, the Cottage offers stunningly breathtaking views in a country environment with access to equestrian pursuits. Wineries and breweries can be viewed up the hill in the back yard! Please note: No pets, parties, or additional guests allowed. You have access to the cottage, pool (as scheduled) and may wander around property to visit with horses, but do not enter horse fields or stalls. The giant hill is a good hike, with spectacular views from the top. You are welcome to enter main barn if you have a riding lesson scheduled. If you pick fruit, please do not pick more than a snack! We are happy to assist you in booking an equestrian lesson on site. Wineries and breweries are everywhere, and we can offer recommendations for our favorites. Bluemont winery overlooks our farm and has expansive views of the countryside. Look up to see the million dollar views of the Bluemont Winery and Dirt Farm Brewery, less than a mile away. The Cottage is ideally located near popular tourist destinations and fine restaurants. There are 20+ wineries/breweries within a 30 minute drive! We are also located a few minutes away from hiking Bears Den, Ravenwood, and the Appalachian trail. Award-winning small town Middleburg is a 20 minute gorgeous drive through Virginia's finest fox hunting country. The farm houses over 50 horses and ponies, which are available for your use for riding lessons. Many are beginner friendly. Or you can bring your own horses and use our private 2 stall barn with run-in shed. (Additional fee all equestrian) You will need a car to navigate to the wineries and local attractions since even our next door neighbors are a drive way! Great Country Farm is right around the corner. It’s a fun place for kids with fruit and vegetable picking, hay rides, mini golf and more. They also sell farm fresh produce. Walking /hiking through the farm or town, and local hiking trails can provide some exercise in a stunning landscape. Bears den is only 5 minutes away, and is a short hike of under 30 minutes with great views from the too. Stop by the Bluemont Country Store and step back into time. They have candy, groceries, and ice cream. Even if you are a beginner rider, taking a lesson on horseback is a rewarding activity. Relax and enjoy, explore, swim, visit.
