The area is steeped in history, and rich in archaeological and historical remains. Kilmartin Glen has at least 350 ancient monuments, of which 150 are prehistoric. Explore the Crinan Canal, Knapdale National Scenic Area, or head to the Kintyre Peninsula with white sandy beaches and a rugged coastline. The area has an abundance of wildlife with porpoise, dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks often seen. Bird watching highlights include sea eagles, golden eagles and puffins, while otters, seals, and deer can also be spotted.
