Balmain Dockside 1 bus or ferry stop to CBD
The Space Our apartment is located close to the bustling heart of Balmain, with its Pubs, Restaurants, Cafes, & only a short walk to all of Balmain's attractions. It is very light and spacious, with high ceilings & has a large sunny deck with a BBQ & a garage. The lounge is also a sofa bed, but is not the type which folds away fully made. It does have to be completely made each time. The apartment complex is located around a beautiful, well looked-after pool (25metre, 28deg C heated, ), with a sunbathing area and BBQ facilities that just asks for the perfect lazy morning at the poolside. With views to the city & the Harbour Bridge, and only one bus stop from the CBD, it is a great location for couples, solo adventurers & as an alternative to city hotels for business accommodation. The apartment also offers the perfect stopover for travellers leaving from/ arriving in Sydney by cruise ship. (Distance from the White Bay International cruise ship terminal: 750m) Please note this is a third floor apartment and there is no lift. The stairs are not challenging however, and access is easy for the able bodied. - This is a residential block of units with lots of owners living on site. We do expect our guests to be very considerate of all of our neighbours & to respect their right to enjoy their home without disturbance. Restaurants and nightlife: Two very nice Italian restaurants (Rosso Pomodoro, Mantecato ) and a nice café are about 30m from the apartment as well as a convenience store and bottle shop. Balmain, being known as the peninsula of pubs, has its oldest pub located just around the corner of the apartment ( Bald Rock Hotel 1876) with about 5 more in the vicinity (The Balmain, Dicks, The London, The Exchange,…). An 800m stroll you’ll find the very popular Darling street, filled with a huge variety of restaurants and lovely little boutiques The Neighbourhood Balmain was one of the earliest suburbs in Sydney becoming a major port, wharf and coal mining area in the 1800’s. This has made Balmain into a colourful, artistic peninsula. Its architecture reminds of the working class background with its beautifully preserved ‘workers cottages’ and high number of pubs. The Bald Rock Hotel, built in 1876 is the longest continually licensed pub in the area, The London Pub with its balcony and lining street bursting with Balmain-ians meeting for after work drinks, the Riverview Hotel (upmarket bistro fare), the hip and revamped Balmain Hotel, Dicks and The Workers are also great options.
