Boasting direct access to the shores of Smiths Lake, Smithy's Lake House is located in a premier location, offering stunning lake views toward Sandbar Beach AND unbeatable lake proximity. Just 30 metres of beautiful reserve lies between your back door and what feels like your own private beach/lake where you can enjoy fishing, swimming, paddle-boarding, kayaking, windsurfing, boating, water-skiing and more. The house offers an expansive covered deck for alfresco eating and spacious open-living with lots of glass doors, meaning stunning views. Between the modern comforts inside, the games and entertainment provided and endless lake activities available at your door-step, your stay will only be too brief! Wake up to birdsong and watch a beautiful sunrise over the lake. Enjoy the still morning waters and take a paddle in the kayaks available for use over to Sandbar Beach (1 x triple-seat kayak, 2 x kids' kayaks and 2 single kayaks). A 15 minute leisurely stroll around the shoreline will get you to the renowned “Frothy Coffee Boatshed”. Throw in a line and catch fresh fish for dinner. The open lake waters also offer ideal windsurfing and kite surfing conditions. Or you may just want to kick back and relax around the fire-pit on the amazing large deck with tranquil lake views. There are plenty of activities for the kids (or kids at heart), with an outdoor ping-pong table available, along with darts and quoits. Keep an eye out for our many furry and feathered visitors – kookaburras, possums, bush turkeys, black swans, pelicans and more! Once you’ve had too much sun and want to retreat inside, the open living design, along with a full wall of glass doors, allows you to continue to soak up the amazing views from the kitchen and living areas. There are two separate living areas, providing ample space to suit the needs of your family or company. You will find a generous assortment of books, games and puzzles to be enjoyed, and in the cooler months, the house offers a cosy wood-heater to snuggle up around. The expansive outdoor awning covers half of the deck to enable all year round and all weather suitable alfresco dining and living. The depth of the lake depends upon the amount of rain received. Sometimes, after the lake has been emptied to the ocean, there is 20 metres of beach before the edge of the lake but when the lake is full then the lake is right out the back! There's always a path to walk around (either the sandy shores or a bush track) and it's always glorious (whether the lake is full, half-full or low).
