50 m from the sea tipical house....

"Comandante" is a characteristic cottage of about 35 square meters located in the most typical seaside village of Elba Island and precisely in one of the most characteristic alleys of Porto Azzurro. It is about 50 meters from the sea and within a radius of 200 meters you can find all the services and activities that a small town can offer its guests. Typical restaurants, trattorias, entertainment venues, two supermarkets, boat rentals, scooters, water sports equipment, clothing and food shops. "Commander" is recommended only and exclusively to guests who know how to appreciate and experience certain typical features of the place, far from modernity (alleys, narrow streets, old buildings, small paths, spontaneous Mediterranean vegetation and breathtaking views). A small old fisherman's house with a wooden floor (recovered from an old sailing ship) which by its very nature can also creak ... a roof ceiling (not insulated) in wooden rafters and Tuscan terracotta bricks. It is therefore a typically rustic environment where nothing is perfect. It is therefore not recommended for those guests who like modern, recently built, stereotyped environments and construction types of a completely different nature (residence or similar). Here we are in an ancient fishing village with many advantages but also with the limitations and imperfections that such a typical and dated context imposes on those who live it. "Commander" is not suitable for people with mobility problems or elderly with mobility difficulties. There are nine steps up from the main road (as shown in the photos). The car cannot be parked in front of the structure, but can be parked in a non-paying area about 300 m from the structure itself, along an uphill road. Porto Azzurro, especially in high season, is a place frequented by tourists, who enjoy typical local restaurants where you can relax in the company of excellent music while sipping a drink. One of these rooms (lounge bar) is located on the lower floor of our structure. Despite the small size of the room, the limited number of customers and the very soft music, the guest must also take this aspect into consideration. Since the structure falls in a limited traffic area, to cars and motorcycles in the evening hours, access is not allowed. The structure consists of two rooms beyond the toilet. The first room (step) is equipped with a single fold-away bed (see photo) which can be used in the case of a third guest. In the second room there are: kitchen complete with fridge / freezer, two-hole sink with mixer, latest-generation hob, bridge wardrobe, double bed, foldable table with wheels equipped with n. 03 chairs (director type). The bathroom (with window) is equipped with a masonry shower box. Speaking of the shower, in the high season periods it is probable that in the evening hours 19/20 at the level of public water supply, there will be disruptions. Therefore it is suggested to anticipate or postpone the use of the shower. In the outer space there is a resin table with three stackable chairs. The outdoor space is perfectly usable for guests to have lunch or dinner outdoors, although it is not for exclusive use. The premises are not air-conditioned. Instead, a powerful “Vortice” fan with three blades is installed on the ceiling of the room where the double bed is located. As far as bathing is concerned, the nearest (free) beach called "La Pianotta" is about two hundred meters from the structure and is rather crowded during the high season (July / August). However, there are rocks everywhere where you can easily stop a few centimeters from crystal clear water ... or other beaches within a radius of 800/900 meters from the property. For the more "sailors" there is the possibility of renting small boats to easily reach dream beaches and coves, such as being accompanied by local fishermen in the most beautiful places. Last consideration: check-in and check-out must be done by the guest in complete autonomy as I do not reside on the Island of Elba. A week before the arrival I will however send the guest a small vademecum where he will find all useful information to reach and occupy (which is very simple) my small home. However, 24 hours are available for any need and a trusted person residing on site, will deal with any urgent needs and view the structure after check-out to ascertain any damage to property and furnishings. The rates shown are inclusive of: initial cleaning, final cleaning, consumption of electricity, LPG gas and water. There is no personal laundry service (bed and bath). It is always a good rule for the guest to view the structure before booking his holiday.
