Our street is in a quiet residential neighborhood where the sounds you are most likely to encounter are the distant squawks of our backyard chickens, the pitter-patter of raindrops on the skylight, or the occasional children's squeal, dog bark or motorcycle rumble. The space We have converted a loft above our garage using all new construction and furnishings to give you a truly luxurious and modern get-away experience. The interior style is meant to make you feel refreshed, energized and comfortable. The 340 sq. ft. space resembles a studio apartment that offers an open floor plan with a vaulted ceiling and a private full bathroom with tiled shower/tub. The central skylight offers a partial view of very old Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar trees off to the west. To the east, you have views of the top of our nearby extinct volcano, Mt. Tabor (which also happens to offer numerous hiking paths and a gorgeous view of downtown Portland and the sunset). While we know many people will be out adventuring for much of your stays, we wanted a cozy place people could use as a respite from a busy life (or to enjoy for an extended-length stay). We have tried to incorporate as many of the little amenities we could think of (and fit in) so that our guests are not wanting for anything. The full kitchen offers everything you could need (and if not, I probably have it in the main house!). Kitchen amenities include: complimentary coffee, Stash tea & fresh fruit, a refrigerator/freezer, range, microwave, dishwasher (all standard sizes), coffeemaker, toaster, water filtration system, dishes and cookware. Main area amenities include: a 40” flat screen Smart TV on wheels (watch from anywhere!) and offers Satellite DIRECTV with 150+ channels plus apps (like Netflix, Hulu) to stream your favorite shows (using your personal subscriptions). Our unit also offers free Wi-Fi, automatic room-darkening window blinds, heat & A/C, ceiling fan, and indoor air-purifying plants. Our space can accommodate up to four people plus one baby/toddler, as we offer a queen bed, a queen-sized sleeper sofa and a child's pack-n-play. For families with young kids, we offer a portable hook-on chair and children's dishes upon request. We also have a plethora of children's toys, books and games to share with families. We must caution that this unit does have stairs and we do not yet offer a gated solution for young explorers. If you need the sleeper sofa, you must notify us in your reservation request so that we may have it ready for you. You will need to climb one flight of stairs to enter this unit. There are no laundry facilities on site. Nearest laundry facility is 0.7 miles away. Guest access You will access the garage loft by walking up our driveway toward the garage and entering through a side door of the garage. A keyless touch-screen deadbolt allows for easy access and security. You will have a personal code assigned to you based on the last four digits of the phone number on the reservation. Other things to note We have ability to speak in limited conversational Spanish and Japanese. KEY HOUSE RULES 1) Please remove shoes at the front door. We would like to protect our floors and keep them shining. 2) No pets allowed as this is an allergen free unit. 3) No smoking allowed on our property. 4) Portland City Code Quiet Hours are 10pm-8am.
