Peaceful Brooks Retreat

A slice of heaven in the hilly countryside. Stroll our extensive gardens and land along Marsh Stream. You can even Kayak or X~C ski from our property . Short walk into our little town for groceries at Wentworth's or Marsh River Co-op, and others. Enjoy easy access to the most beautiful places along the coast then return to your own oasis. Base price is for 2 people, extra cost of $20 per person. Well trained Dogs by permission only. Set at the end of a private dirt road 5 min walk to the center of Brooks but totally quiet and peaceful. Park in your own spot and walk down to your own outdoor entrance facing the pond. The whole 1st floor is yours ; 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 2 fold out comfortable cots, and a couch for sleeping. Bath with shower and washer dryer. Large living room with cable TV, Roku, DVD player, WiFi , books, and games for kids. Dining and kitchen area with a Stove, small refrigerator, microwave, sink, convection toaster oven, coffee maker, griddle, crockpot, electric skillet, and all the utensils and dishes needed for a group. Outside you can grill out. Own private sitting areas and table outside overlooking our pond with a firepit, Weber grill, and several, comfortable Chairs, swings to relax. Walks on the property around the many gardens, woodland path along Marsh Stream, and around our pond. Easy walk into the center of Brooks with general store, Marsh River Coop, Ralph's cafe, and the best thrift store around in the Varney building. If you're lucky, you may catch a show at the Marsh River Theatre. A ten minute drive down the hills on rte 7, you arrive in Belfast; the best kept secret on the coast. Washer Dryer are for your use as is Wifi, and TV. Charcoal Grill and Fire Pit are for your use on request. Please be aware we live on the property upstairs with our small dog and cat. We are here to answer questions as needed and invite you to enjoy our property. As you have your own entrance and all of the first floor, you can relax undisturbed. Brooks is a lovely little community in the beautiful coastal hills of Waldo County with open fields pastures, far off vistas, and space to renew. With live theatre. a food coop, a convenience store open every day, Ralphs Café, a welcoming church, and a great hardware store. Driving the hills of Waldo county from our home you'll discover wonderful treasures off the beaten path of the coast...but so close. Walk into town, to the park, or along Marsh Stream. Drive to other places you choose to visit. Many wonderful parks to explore nearby. We have a lot of literature to help you plan your outings and we are always available to give suggestions... directions, and insider info. We are centrally located to the coast just a little NW of Belfast up route 7. Acadia National Park is only a 1.5 hr drive. Camden, Rockport 45-50 min. Unity and the Common Ground Fair only 15 min. A short 10-12 min drive to Belfast, a vibrant and beautiful town to explore just minutes from Brooks with a lovely harbor, waterfront walks, great restaurants, unique shops, and a thriving art scene year round. It is the best kept secret on the coast.
