This charming holiday apartment, above Lake Brienz, extends over two floors. The unique view from the balcony will revitalise you, and you will come back full of energy. The open kitchen is bright and welcoming and has an electric stove with oven and fridge with freezer compartment. The entire house has underfloor and central heating, and this great apartment also has a fireplace for cool evenings. The access to the second floor is only possible via a small, steep staircase. Here there is a gallery room with a second living room, TV and another bedroom with 2 mattresses on the floor (tall people cannot stand upright on this floor). A garage space is reserved for you in the basement of the house. Access to the house is only via one small mountain road, the Axalp can be reached in 35 minutes from Brienz by post bus or car. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, but want to enjoy the proximity of Lake Brienz and the mountains, the Axalp is exactly the right place. Pack your swimming trunks because the Hinterburgsee is waiting for your visit. In the midst of an idyllic landscape and in front of a magical backdrop, the lake invites you to jump into the cool water or simply have a great picnic or barbecue. A large number of hiking and mountain trails are waiting to be explored in the Axalp region. A special kind of hiking trail is the "Schnitzlerweg". On the adventure hiking trail you will encounter around 100 figures carved out of wood. The around 1 hour hike with partly steep passages and turnstiles (from cattle keepers) ends at Hinterbugsee and leads through a varied alpine landscape. Another attraction is the annual shooting by the Swiss Air Force in late autumn, the aviation arts are well worth seeing. In the Ballenberg Heimatwerk course center - located on the outskirts of Hofstetten in the valley - craft and handcraft courses are offered. Bathing and water sports enthusiasts and other water lovers will find perfect relaxation in the very nearby and clean Lake Brienz.
