Kate’s Cottage is a few miles from the beautiful village of Cartmel, famous for its horse racing on one of the prettiest courses in the country, stunning priory church and a favourite place for foodies. The charming coastal resort of Grange -over - Sands is in the locality along with Holker Hall, Levens Hall and Sizergh Castle (N.T). These properties all boast lovely gardens and interesting houses. All very different from each other. Kate’s Cottage is ideally situated for bird watchers. There are several reserves around Morecambe Bay including Leighton Moss, Foulshaw Moss, Walney Island and Roundsea Wood. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars and see the Ospreys, in the summer. Grizedale Forest is great for families to explore, with its nature trails, miles of cycling paths and chance to Go Ape. For dog walkers, there are plenty of paths to explore from the cottage gate. Horse riding is 10 mins walk from the cottage has an indoor riding school or go for a hack. Horses and ponies to suit all abilities. Kate’s Cottage is a fantastic base to explore the South Lakes and all its attractions. On your return enjoy the lovely garden with its panoramic views of the Fells. Watch the sunset while sitting in the garden with a drink or warm yourself by the open fire in the winter. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
