The Castle Jail is 12 minutes walk and well worth a visit. The train to Edinburgh is 20 minutes drive from Jedburgh at Tweedbank and Scot Rail operate a half hourly service. Off peak return is £11.20. The Townhouse is a great place to stay when the Common Riding is happening. This is called "Jedhart Callants Festival". You get a birds eye view when the horses come in after a rideout, when they congregate in the Square - just outside the Lounge and Kitchen windows. I am contactable by mobile, and will do all I can to help my guests if they encounter a problem. The property is situated in the centre of Jedburgh. Mary Queen of Scot's house and gardens is a stroll away. The Castle Jail, if you feel up to it, is a steep walk up the Castle Gait (alternative is to drive to the Jail). There are a selection of independent shops on your doorstep, along with an abundance of cafes and restaurants to choose from. There is also a large free car park 2 minutes walk away from the property. The Bus Station is 2 minutes walk away from the property. There is a good taxi service - 1st Taxis (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) I always ensure that the Townhouse is clean and welcoming for all my guests, just as I would expect it to be if I was one.
