This cosy terraced holiday cottage sits in the village of Tanygrisiau, just 1 mile from the former slate capital of the world, Blaenau Ffestiniog, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Adjacent to the owner’s home, the property has perfect views of the Ffestiniog Railway and the steam train as it makes its way past on its delightful journey down to the coast at Porthmadog. This character cottage provides an excellent base from which to explore Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Dolwyddelan Castle, Betws-y-Coed, Porthmadog and Portmeirion. Visit the Antur Stiniog mountain bike trails catering for beginners and experts, the fantastic Bounce Below underground trampolines and fly over a slate quarry at Zip World. You can even visit Surf Snowdonia in the Conwy Valley, the world’s first artificial surfing lagoon, or try your hand at white water rafting at Afon Tryweryn near Bala. There are a variety of gardens to visit in the area such as The Dingle, Chrik Castle, Bodnant, Powis Castle and Crug Farm Plants. There is a range of garden styles, some historic, others organic, some with very unusual plants for sale. With 22 gardens, some private, others regularly open, organise a series of events including; photography; treasure hunts; steam days; picnics; owner led guided walks; garden tours, and several serving delicious Welsh afternoon teas.
