The Tallet Barn consists of two, spacious, light and airy properties known as Tallet Barn East and West. Both have large double height kitchens, dining and living space, and are beautifully furnished in a contemporary style. Each of the adjoining barns has its own well-appointed accommodation for four guests with a king-size and twin bedroom, shower room and separate cloakroom in each. However with a clever, highly insulated interconnecting door system in place between them, larger families of up to eight guests can enjoy a combined, flexible living space and the use of the two kitchens for socialising together and enjoying private accommodation, an ideal scenario. In total The Tallet Barn offers four bedrooms, two shower rooms, and two cloakrooms, and all the everyday living space a large family could wish for, with sliding glass doors on the ground floor and balcony windows on the first floor, affording wonderful views of the stunning countryside all around. Sitting on top of a deserted medieval village, The Tallet Barn at Darknoll Farm sits atop a Scheduled Monument. There are opportunities for enjoyable walks across the surrounding fields and footpaths, and with the Wessex Ridgeway on your doorstep, the additional walking opportunities are endless. It is a pleasant stroll along the farm track to the village pub, shop and centre of pretty Okeford Fitzpaine, and within a short drive is the popular market town of Sturminster Newton with its shops, cafe and museum. For smaller groups, each of the two barns is also available to book individually: Tallet Barn East (sleeps four guests); and Tallet Barn West (sleeps four guests). Bedroom two With twin 3' single beds. Cloakroom With wash basin and WC. There are highly insulated double doors between each of the semi-detached barns allowing the ground floor space to be combined when the doors are unlocked and left open. Tallet Barn West Ground Floor: (with modern infra-red heating throughout) Open-plan kitchen, sitting room and dining room Kitchen area With electric oven and hob, fridge and freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Sitting room area With generous comfortable seating, wood burning stove,television and sliding doors to terrace. Dining room area With a table and chairs seating four guests. Family shower room With walk-in shower enclosure, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. First Floor: Bedroom one With a king-size bed and balcony window with panoramic countryside views. Outside: Each property has its own terrace with far-reaching rural views, and beyond the individual terrace areas is a large, open field to enjoy and explore. There is a professional standard sports hall in a nearby barn where guests can play tennis, volley ball, badminton and football, and guests are invited to book their use of the sports hall with the owner when on site - rackets and balls will be provided. A barbecue with initial supply of a small charcoal pack is provided during the summer months. Parking for up to four cars. Additional Information: A travel cot and highchair are available in each property on request (please bring your own cot linen). One well behaved dog is welcome in Tallet Barn West only (small additional charge). Guests are welcome to book a time slot to use the nearby sports barn for tennis, badminton, volleyball and football - contact details for the owner to make a booking are available within the property in the guest folder- rackets and balls provided. Due to the peaceful setting, the owners politely request no parties or partying to take place. Thank you in advance for your consideration. A charcoal barbecue is provided during summer months. The lane leading to The Tallet Barn is mostly an unmade farm track which is very uneven, it is not suitable for sports cars or low vehicles.
