White Sulphur Springs is an excellent midway stop between YELLOWSTONE and GLACIER NATIONAL PARKS. We think the Hot Springs Spa has the best healing water in the country. Three mountain ranges offer a myriad of recreational options: Hunting, Fishing, ATV Riding, Hiking, Boating, Skiing, and Snowmobiling. Come stay, relax & enjoy! The main level has 4 different entrances: front main door, front patio door, back deck and garage. There is a door at the bottom of the inside stairway that accesses the upper level. When you only rent the main level, this door will be locked. There is also a separate entrance to the upper level via the outside stairs. Feel free to ask us about details. We could be as available as needed. The newly remodeled Hot Springs Spa is a natural hot springs spa on par with Baden Baden Germany. It is about 6 blocks to the West. Did we mention 2 Basset Brewery? It's a local brewer of craft beers and is only 2 1/2 blocks away! Great owners, employees, beer and yummy popcorn. White Sulphur also has a Castle, a movie theater, and a 9-hole public links called Arrowhead Golf Course. Local events during the summer: the Red Ants Pants Music Festival, and several street dances in downtown White Sulphur. Over Labor Day Weekend, White Sulphur Springs hosts a PRCA Rodeo. Several Bars are located any where from 2-4 blocks to the West of the Red Roof. l White Sulphur is home to 9 eateries that feature breakfast, steakhouses and pizza, to a tapas restaurant-- all available in the "downtown" area or a short drive away. Local clothing, art studio & other retail shops are also within a 6 block span. For a small, rural town White Sulphur Springs has all the essential amenities... Mountainview Medical Center, a new library, grocery stores, and an 8 am to 2 am convenience store. Being near the center of the state of Montana, all of the state's major cities are within 3 hours and 10 minutes from the Red Roof. The Kings Hill Scenic Byway offers access to hundreds of miles of old mining and logging trails/roads in the mountains and forest, one of them being the Pioneer Heritage Trail. In winter, you'll find some 200 miles of marked snowmobile trails in these woods. There's also the Silvercrest Cross-Country Ski Trail System with 17 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails, just North of Kings Hill Pass. And then just South of the summit of Kings Hill Pass (7,393'), there's the Showdown Montana Downhill Ski Area. Near the Northern end of the Scenic Byway, near Riceville is the Sluice Boxes State Park. This is in the Belt Creek Canyon, an area that saw lots of miners in the old days. The property was acquired by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks in 1974 and has remained in a "primitive" state ever since. You'll find the remains of several mines, historic cabins and parts of the Montana Central Railroad here. Gipsy Lake, a pristine mountain paradise has every berry imaginable for snacking or jelly making, and non-motorized boats are allowed on the lake. Newlan Creek Reservoir, Bair Reservoir, and Lake Sutherlin are 15 minutes to 1/2 hour away from White Sulphur. Motorized boats are allowed on each of these waterways . The launching site for the Smith River is just Northwest of White Sulphur Springs. Memorial Falls, just South of Neihart is a nice, family-friendly hike. Castletown is an old mining town that sits about 19 miles over the mountain towards Lennep (4-wheel drive recommended). The outstanding Bair Museum is located in the town of Martinsdale, approximately 36 miles from White Sulphur via Hwy 12. For the most part, everything you would need or want is within walking distance from the Red Roof, on Main Street. We also provide 2 bicycles to utilize when the desire/need arises. There is no public transportation. If you have 4-wheelers or ATV's it's easier to get around in the mountains, but for most roads they are not necessary.
