Stony Clove Cottage

Welcome to Stony Clove Cottage! The cottage can sleep maximum 4 adults and 2 children (2 queen size beds, 1 children's bunkbed). There is also a portable crib for infants. Located in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, 2 hours 15 minutes from New York City and minutes from Main St. Phoenicia. 15 minutes from two great ski mountains, Hunter and Belleayre. Listen to the sound of the Stony Clove Creek and enjoy being in nature, while just 1 mile from Phoenicia's Main Street. Beautiful all seasons! The cottage has two bedrooms with queen size beds in each and a children's bedroom with a bunkbed. It's perfect for a family with children, or one or two couples. We set up the house to feel cozy, but it has plenty of space to stretch out. The sun drenched eat in kitchen is the perfect place to start your day. Cozy up to the large wood burning stove, listen to the hi-fi, and relax in the evening. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals (gas stove), and there is a dish washer. Our well water is filtered and great for drinking. In the winter, the Catskills' best skiing is minutes away and in the warmer months there are beautiful hikes, like Kaaterskill Falls, Mt Tremper, Devil's Path, Giant Ledge, and loads more a short drive away. The Ashokan Rail Trail is beautiful and an easy walk for all ages. The creek across the road offers an idyllic swimming hole, and the Esopus Creek is famous for fly fishing. Phoenicia has some great food options like the Phoenicia Diner, Woodstock Brewery, and the Phoenician Steakhouse. Peekamouse Restaurant is less than 15 minutes by car. Woodstock is a 20 minute scenic drive away. One of our favorite reviews: "I can’t say enough good things about Dorota's and Michael’s place, especially if you are traveling with children! We went over Thanksgiving and the place was beautiful, clean and very thoughtfully prepared for guests. The mid-century modern design, overflowing pile of wood and kindling, well stocked kitchen, and abundance of toys and books for kids to play with made it feel like we were at “home”. The kids walked into “their” room and were so excited to see twinkling lights, a bunk bed (and a pack and play crib), and books, puzzles and toys that suited each of their ages (8yrs, 5yrs, & 3yrs). The location is in striking distance to all the places we wanted to eat at and explore in the region. Dorota was quick to reply to questions, provided local recommendations, and very accommodating re arrival and late departure. My husband and I really enjoyed the whole ambiance- from the artwork on the walls to classics on the bookshelves. If we were to buy and decorate a weekend house in the Catskills, it would be just like this one!" You have the whole house to use and our beautiful backyard and fire pit. Cell phone service is spotty, but connecting to wi-fi calling on your phone works very well.
