North Norfolk forms part of the largest coastal nature reserve in England with bitterns, terns, oystercatchers, avocets and marsh harriers, making it a prime site for bird watching. The seaside resorts of Sheringham, 3 miles, and Cromer, 7 miles, have excellent sandy beaches, shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Sheringham is home to the Poppy Line steam railway, Splash Leisure and Fitness Centre, a local market, and a small theatre. Cromer has a promenade, pier and end of the pier theatre hosting live entertainment throughout the year. Thursford’s amazing Christmas show is a mere 15 minutes by car. The charming Georgian town of Holt is 4 miles away with shops, artist studios, restaurants and cafés. Enjoy wildlife in its natural surroundings whilst taking a drive along the coast to the nearby bird reserves at Cley next the Sea, Morston and Blakeney, where boat trips are also available to National Trust’s Blakeney Point – to view seals and birdlife.
