Eighteen Mile Cottage is a charming and tastefully decorated early 1920's Queenslander holiday home. Nestled beside an invigorating, freshwater river that flows close from its source - the Lamington National Park. Also located in the very beautiful Lost World Valley and part of Scenic Rim Queensland, plus only 90 minutes from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The cottage is situated on private acreage that is fully fenced and surrounded by 500 (approx) acres of captivating mountains, pastures and countryside. With a lovely romantic and comfortable feel, the cottage is perfect for couples, small families and friend groups who are looking to slow down, unwind and re-energise! There are wonderful rock-pools to explore, take a dip, throw a line in or picnic beside. And for the energetic, plenty of challenging mountain hikes await! The cottage sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms (one queen bed and two single beds), and boasts a large rear deck with breathtaking views; outdoor campfire area for evening relaxation and star gazing; lounge room; fully equipped self-catering kitchen; bathroom: toilet, vanity basin & spa bath/shower; laundry: washing machine & laundry tub; reverse cycle air-conditioner (in lounge/living area); BBQ (flat top style); TV; DVD; CD player; verandah situated at front of the cottage, great for soaking in the sunshine during the cool, winter afternoons. Please find the following items that we provide for guests stay: • All bed linen, bath towels, floor mats, hand towels and tea towels. • Blankets, electric blankets and heaters are provided for the cooler months. Fans are provided for the warmer months. Along with the reverse-cycle air-conditioner in living room. • Portion of laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, soap, shampoo & conditioner, body moisturiser, tissues, coffee pods (Espressotoria), instant coffee, black tea, herbal teas, sugar, milk (1L long-life). • Portion of firewood. Guests are welcome to collect more from the surrounding paddocks (an axe is provided for this). • Gas BBQ (flat-lid style). • Complimentary bottle of wine & chocolates on arrival (full priced bookings). Travelling with infants and toddlers?? We do not charge for infants up to 4 yrs of age, though linen (single bed sheets & bath towel) is not provided. Linen may be hired if required: $30/child for the stay. Two portable cots plus a timber high chair (with adjustable tray but no harness) - please check for availability upon your booking request. N.B. No landline telephone or wifi connection is presently available. Limited mobile phone range is available - Telstra currently superior to others in the district. Tambourine Mountain: unique and interesting cafes, restaurant, shops, Gallery Walk, treetop challenge, glowworm caves. Endless opportunities to take breathtaking photo's Eighteen Mile Cottage & Homestead are located in Darlington and the Lost World Valley. Approximately 3 kms from the Lamington National Park and situated in the foothills of O'Riellys Lamington National Park. O’Reilly’s Lamington National Park: By vehicle, the trip from Eighteen Mile to O’Reilly’s takes approx 1 hr 20mins, travelling via Beaudesert. A shorter (approx 40 min trip from Eighteen Mile) 4WD dirt road is also an option, but you would need to check on the condition of this road before embarking. Mt Joyce Recreation Park: Offers a variety of activities from world class mountain bike trails, shoreline horse trails, bush walks, trail runs and canoe trails. The Park also incorporates picnic facilities, playground and other amenities and is located off the Beaudesert-Boonah Road at Wyaralong. By vehicle, the trip from Eighteen Mile to Wyaralong takes approx 40mins (40.4kms), travelling via Beaudesert. Tamborine Mountain: By vehicle, the trip from Eighteen Mile to Tamborine Mountain takes approx 50mins, travelling via Beaudesert.
