The Marin County ban on short term rentals has lifted. this is very good news for us and for our clients as what we offer--- close contact with nature and animals has been very helpful to our families. Animals include chickens, rabbits, and ducks and fresh eggs every morning!! There are also horses to feed carrots but not available for riding. It feels like a total get away from the rush of civilization. In addition to unusual grounds and privacy the interior of the home has lots of original art work and a fireplace with lots of wood. Access to 5 acre meadow, trails in the woods, including a cottage and suspension bridge for kids. We live on the hill above the property. If we are traveling there is a caretaker for the many animals who is available to answer questions or provide assistance. If we are home we often invite guests up for a glass of wine towards the end of their visit. Some guests appreciate this offer and some decline. We are also available to show children how to feed and care for the many animals if this service is wanted. Bolinas long know for its iconoclastic and unique population is becoming a frequent destination for many people yet still maintains its original character. For example, the locals have torn down the signs on the road to Bolinas for years but the internet has defeated their efforts...and surfers have discovered the joys of the beach and come in hordes on weekends. The town and beach are less than one mile down the road. Our 15 acres overlooking the Bolinas Lagoon is an oasis of quiet and privacy with a magical cottage in the woods and lots of animals. There is a local stagecoach to all of the small towns in West Marin. These towns are sprinkled in between one of the largest open space areas near a major city in the world. The area is a unique combination of agriculture, small towns, and pristine parkland known as the Golden Gate Recreational Parkland. There is a three day minimum and an additional hotel tax of 14% and a cleaning fee of $250. We also favor longer visits of 7 days because we take hygiene seriously with the current pandemic. Access is down a long driveway towards the lower house. Plenty of parking. At Xmas and New Years we ask for a 7 day minimum.
