NYC Twice as Nice - Town & Country
Our 19th century Dutch Colonial has charm in this historic town 15 miles north of NYC. Enjoy scenic Hudson Valleys quaint river villages or hop a coach to Times Square, then back to our comfy beds, lounges, fireplaces, garden and nature trails. Arrive up our private road to a park setting in the spring, summer and fall, with outdoor seating areas, hammock, dining area and a canopy swing for two. Fruit trees, flower and vegetable gardens flourish (in season). Our house, built in the 1850's has woodwork from gifted architects and craftsmen. From built in china cabinets to parquet floors (they just don't build them like this anymore). Come in and enjoy some refreshment, look around and see where you would like to relax later, the sunroom, living room or library. Up one flight and pass a second fireplace and lounge area. Head up the stairs and choose from one King bedroom or one Queen bedroom on a private floor with a full bath. Plenty of room to enjoy a winter stay with fireplaces, board games, books and movies. A motor coach passes often (hourly at times) and will stop at the end of our road and whisk you off to New York City in less than an hour. We enjoy our home and hope you will as well. We'd like to share our space with people who like to explore different cultures. So our house is your house, yet please respect our do's and don'ts. Smoking is off limits inside. Some personal rooms are off limits as well. Please enjoy breakfast in the kitchen or in the sunroom and maybe join us for dinner in the dining room. Our pet cats live here and are sociable on their terms. Laurie and I both live and work locally and are accessible by phone. Most often we are together for dinner. We're open to whatever questions you have, information you may need or stories you'd like to share. Be our dinner guests if interested and we will provide breakfast items for you to awake to and enjoy on your own. Rich in American history in a tri-state area where Conneticut, New Jersey and New York merge. We are happy to have access to one of the greatest cities in the world. We are also thrilled to live close enough to the streams lakes and nature of the NY state countryside. We have the best of both worlds access to the city and a short ride to the farms...
