The unique and inviting slab and sandstone cottage is set right upon a long, wide stretch of the Hawkesbury River. And is positioned on the Cooinoo Peninsula at Singletons Mill, 15.5km’s down river from the historic Wiseman’s Ferry. Wiseman's is just over an hour and a half's drive from central Sydney. Up here life is centred around the river and the property takes on different personas each season. As you wind your way through the roads of the ‘Forgotten Valley’ you will be transformed to another era. When you open the door to this beautiful settler-era style cottage, you will feel even more like you have stepped back in time. All the modern comforts of home and more await you, and the stunning views welcome you to relax. As the sun awakens over the glassy river, mist often rises from the water as the day starts to warm up. The gentle sounds of the native wildlife greeting the day beckon you to leave all your cares behind. For your brekkie, some farm fresh eggs can be collected straight from the chook’s nest. Days offer bright sunshine against the backdrop of Hawkesbury sandstone cliffs and gentle quiet pastures. A kayak across the mirrored waters, and perhaps an explore of some of the sandstone caves and inlets may be in order. Or perhaps a relax with a good book in the hammocks, or even just a snooze under the eucalyptus-dappled skies. Now to mention the fishing! The Hawkesbury River is renowned for some famous scaly locals, including Bream, Flathead, Mullet, Australian Bass and of course the Holy Grail of the Southern waters… the mighty Mulloway. Have a cast from the private pontoon right at your front door, or perhaps you might like to take a punt at crabbing. The Hawkesbury produces some of Australia’s largest and finest mud crabs! On hotter days, take a stroll up the hill through the paddock and lovely, tall gum trees, for a dip in the saltwater rock pool. The pool is a couple of minutes walk/ a few hundred metres from the cottage. It is set high on top of one of the Hawkesbury's iconic and beautiful sandstone platforms, with an elevated view across the river from the pool cabana, which is affectionately known as the "Gin Palace". The perfect place for a spot of lunch, or indeed that refreshing drink. All year round, dusk is a wonderful time of day as the river becomes glass like. Watch a sunset you’ll never forget on the riverside deck. As night time approaches, perhaps strike up the barbie and cook up that fish you caught! The cottage offers a fireplace indoors and a fire pit right next to the river view deck for some cosy nights outdoors - perhaps spotting our resident sugar gliders, possums or owls, while sipping an evening bevvie. A game of pool, table tennis, darts or other games might strike your fancy in the games room, situated just behind the cottage. There are also mountain bikes here, should you care for a roll about the countryside. Warami exudes peace and tranquillity and is set up for relaxation, reflection and quiet enjoyment. Come prepared to step into our sanctuary for an escape, a getaway and some rest.
