Reggio Calabria is a approx. 1hr 15min by car, a very picturesque drive through mountains or 1hr by train from Roccella station nearby. Picturesque Tropea approx. 1hr 10min drive. Ferries every 15 mins from Reggio Calabria to Sicily (can be done in a day with an early start.)
