Hi friends! Welcome to RenMaine – a tiny house with small town charm and big personality just a hop/skip from I-95 in Waterville. Bedroom and living room space with plenty of parking and lots of great music, coffee, and comfort. Host fully vaccinated and air purified space. January 2021: Downstairs bathroom is being renovated! I will be closed until mid-January. New pictures coming soon! As a faculty member at Colby College I plan stay in at the house Monday-Wednesday (or through the weekend on select weeks). I teach on Colby’s campus but I do have occasional in-person lessons at home (fully vaccinated participants). I am happy to greet you in person and also happy to do some light socializing if desired. Otherwise I keep it pretty chill and stay out of the way so you can enjoy the space. It's a tiny house but I am good at being a ghost. I am usually gone on the weekends but during I might be around for home updates, gardening, fires, and other Maine type events. If I get a good fire going you're welcome to join! Otherwise on weekends you'll have the whole place to yourself. The rental fees reflect when I’m here or when you’ll rent the home for yourself. RenMaine is on a street that's a direct connection from I-95 to downtown Waterville. It's real busy during the day but super peaceful and quiet at night. The house actually does really well with sound if all the doors and windows are shut. I have minimal fencing on both sides of the house and live relatively close to neighbours – a family with young children on one side and and senior widow to the other, and a day care center behind the house. They are all chill, especially when I have friends over for fires during the summer, but we make sure to be respectful and responsible. I live directly across the street from Northern Lights hospital, which is comforting in case of emergency and for purposes of security – there's always someone there. Sometimes you'll see ambulances/police or, in unfortunate circumstances, hear medic helicopters dropping in. Otherwise, it's not too hectic. Outside of the micro-residential area I live in, on either side is about a half mile walk to two different shopping plazas with two different grocery stores, Applebees, Planet Fitness, movie theatre, and other shopping. The sidewalk kinda ends after a but it's an easy walk or bike ride. A quick couple of miles into downtown Waterville with a famous ice cream store and health food store and beautiful views. In the opposite direction toward I-95, fast food chains. RenMaine is a quick, straight shot off of I-95, Exit 127. Kennedy Memorial Drive. Go toward downtown. If you're passing Circle K, McDonalds, and Applebees, you're going in the right direction. Once you pass the Applebees you'll hit one more stoplight. On your way down the hill you'll see a large wooden front deck. Pull into that long driveway with a broken down blue barn and the end of it (another project for another day...). Because there's a sort of half-hearted middle turn lane right in front of the houses it can be a little intimidating in heavy traffic but most surrounding traffic knows enough to give you room. Plenty of parking once you get in but I'd recommend pulling into the side spot. You'll see it. If you're arriving by bus I believe the Greyhound is also on KMD at a Nouria gas station. I'm just a quick walk from there as well. For long term rentals for those who work in local hospitals I’m very much open to that! My house is right across the street from Inland Northern Lights, so for those working there, easy commute! Message me to let me know if this is of interest to you.
