Sunnyside Cottage -- Near Main and Train
Flooded with light and charm, this cozy 100+ year old cottage is on a quiet street that backs up to the golf course for endless views. Renovated top to bottom, the home is now quite modern yet retains historic appeal. Only a 5-10 minute walk to Main Street or the Beacon train depot, it's a perfect weekend getaway for a couple, girls' weekend or local weddings and graduations. Note: the listed price is a base fee for two; there is a $25 per person fee per night for additional guests. Passing through the generous front porch, you enter the great room brimming with light from the 12 original windows and 2 French doors. An open plan kitchen affords views out to the golf course and oversized back deck, while separate dining and living areas offer several places to gather. The kitchen has ample storage and prep space with a large peninsula and breakfast bar, two undercounter refrigerator/freezers and a full size fridge with icemaker just steps away in the full basement. There is a Nespresso pod machine and milk frother for homemade lattes and cappucinos and the pantry is stocked with basic condiments and most typical kitchen cooking necessities. Upstairs are three cozy bedrooms tucked under the eaves of the half hip roof, furnished with brand new memory foam mattresses, crisp bedding and a mix of modern and antique furnishings. The sparkling new bathroom has a comfortable soaking tub and marble topped vanity. There is a full size washer and dryer in the basement (please use only the products provided to avoid chemical sensitivities), There are new heat and central AC systems (two zones; upstairs and down); the heating system is very efficient and can often be set lower than one typically might, especially upstairs. While this is not a full time home, a few of our personal belongings are kept in the house, but there are plenty of empty drawers and other storage for guests. There is one full bath upstairs, and a brand new powder room addition on the first floor. Guests have access to all areas of the house, including the welcoming front porch, back deck furnished with a dining table and comfortable seating area, and yard. While there is no television in the house, there is high speed wifi that can handle multiple devices streaming, so bring your iPads and laptops! There is also a Bose Bluetooth speaker for playing your music. I will have an associate there to either let you in or we will give you information on access and alarm codes prior to your arrival. I am in ready reach by text or phone as will be my locally-based associate for anything that might come up during your stay. The house is ideally located near the train and Main Street, but is unusually bucolic due to the golf course situated just behind the street. This is a quiet street with nice neighbors, so please be considerate when coming and going. There is plenty of parking in the drive (at least 3 cars can fit tandem) and parking is allowed on the street during the day. Cars may not be left overnight when snow plowing is necessary.
