Charming New England Farmhouse
This rustic New England Farmhouse has all the charm of an 18th century home, complete with all the amenities you need for your next getaway or vacation! With a sprawling yard, in-ground pool, a newly renovated kitchen (great for gatherings), a massive deck, and 5 bedrooms. Our home has room for a fun family getaway or a relaxing retreat away from the city. This New England colonial house was built in 1755 by a captain from Newburyport, MA. Originally 100 acres, the property now sits on 3 private acres on a corner lot in the scenic town of Chester, NH. The house retains many of its original features, including King Pine floors & walls, and brick fireplace & cooking kettle. We have updated some features of the house, including renovating the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms, while maintaining much of the original architecture. The large 500 square foot hardwood deck is perfect for gatherings. The large in-ground pool is great for kids and families to cool off during the summer months, and across the street from the property boasts over 500 acres of walking/snow shoeing and bridle trails. Just a 5 minute walk down the road sits Hazelton Orchards, where you can go apple and peach picking! The house is just an hours drive to the White Mountains, an hour to Boston, and 45 minutes to the seacoast! Guests will have access to the entire house and its amenities. We will pick veggies from the garden (when available) and leave for you in the kitchen. We just ask that you stay out of the garage, barn, and basement We live a short drive away from the property and will be available 24/7 should you need anything during your stay. Chester is a quaint New England town with tons of charm and character. The house is off a main street with lots of privacy. You are a 10 minute drive to grocery stores and other popular destinations, including breweries, boutiques, and restaurants. Fall is an incredible time to visit thanks to beautiful foliage, apple picking, the community scare crow competition, and town fairs. Since Chester offers no modes of public transportation, its best to have a car, or take a ride share service to your destinations. Airport service can be arranged by us should you need! There are Ubers available and take about 10-20 minutes on average to arrive The house is very private, but we ask that you respect the neighbors by keeping late night disturbances or noise to a minimum. Four of the bedrooms are upstairs, and one downstairs with an attached bathroom which is ideal for anyone with physical limitations. The house is loaded with character, and with that comes some uneven floor spaces, and a narrow staircase. If you are at all concerned about mobility please contact us! The floors do creak a lot (old house charm) so don’t be surprised to hear some squeaks! Lady Bugs will often be found in some bedrooms of the house during colder months. They are harmless and are seeking warmth. We do our best to eradicate them between bookings, but often return. Please let us know if they become a problem.
