The mountaintop cabin has been known to sit alongside a rainbow. It offers miles and miles of views - clear across the county all the way to Pilot Mountain in the far distance. The sunrise is awe-inspiring. Our family fell in love with the view, the coziness of the cabin, and the community. We have tried to create a place where guests feel relaxed, at home, and can unwind. Plus, 2 floors are handicapped accessible. VIEW Big view looking towards the Blue Ridge Parkway and over Rendezvous State Park. The community’s close proximity makes it convenient to get to area attractions including 10 state parks, the parkway, Boone, Kerr Scott Lake, plus hiking, game land, off-roading, streams, and trails for your enjoyment. RELAX Here guests find the perfect spot whether it’s seeking solitude or connecting with friends and family. View hundreds of acres. Inside and outside you’ll overlook Rendezvous Park, the valley, twinkling of city lights in the far distance, and take in starry nights. Safety is a priority for homeowners; the cabin is located in the highly desirable gated community of Buck Mountain. For winter weather events, guests have 2 gas fireplaces, gas stove and grill, and small generator to provide power. Bring your snuggly blankets for added coziness. Trails, waterfalls, and jaw-dropping views - a mountain getaway yet close by to several amenities. Relax, unwind, or work (high speed internet) - we hope guests enjoy their time here. This custom-built cabin is a homey, comfortable place to unwind. Guests will enjoy this four bedroom, three bath log home. The main and lower levels are ADA accessible. Entryway ramps are available. For guests with small children or infants/toddlers we have added a pack and play, high chair, and a side bed rail for convenience. MAIN FLOOR Upon entry on the main level you will find it’s an open floorplan, with a two-story stone fireplace, 50-inch Fire TV, cathedral ceiling with large picture windows, and long-range views. The family room is furnished with double reclining sofas and a rocker/recliner beckoning guest to settle in. This floor boasts a large kitchen, an island bar with conversational bar stools, a dining table with seating for 8, a drop-leaf table perfect for use as a buffet or extra seating, and an adjacent patio with bistro table and chairs. A viewing room, off the den, serves a place to relax with 2 recliners or to work depending on your desire. The room has a second gas fireplace. The master bedroom is off the den. Guests take advantage of its private patio with glider rocking chairs where you can enjoy the scenery and the songbirds. The master bedroom has a king sleigh bed, Fire TV, walk-in closet, split sinks, a walk-in two-person shower. The loft is beautifully adorned with an antique wrought iron queen bed, bathroom, Fire TV, and perfectly situated view out of the upper large windows overlooking the mountains. For added privacy, the loft is set up with a moveable screen for guests to use should they prefer. The lower level provides access to the cabin’s 3rd & 4th oversized bedrooms. Room #3 is set in mid-century modern has a queen bed, accentuated with beautiful flora curtains, a wet bar, Fire TV, bathroom, and space in for a crib/pack-and-play/air mattress. Guests in the bedroom have access through the French door to the outside covered patio. The 4th room offers a full bed, single bed, and plenty of extra space. Can accommodate guest’s air mattresses. And, don’t hurt your back bending over to get belongings out of luggage. The cabin has 2 luggage racks for convenience. Outside features are nicely appointed. Enjoy a 20-foot covered patio with a gas grill, ready for grilling or passing the day kicked back observing nature’s beauty. One-step entry into the main level and flat entry into the lower level. A ramp is available as added convenience. A large, gentle sloping outside area, offers ample parking area for guests. Our goal it to provide guest who choose the Rainbow’s Edge a special place where you will enjoy the beauty of the Appalachian mountains. While you’re here we hope you find it to be a comfortable, nicely appointed log cabin. Located on the front side of the gated Buck Mountain community, the cabin is an easy entrance and drive. Paved roadway is a plus. Come enjoy the mountaintop where rainbows are known to appear and clouds kiss the treetops. It’s a short drive to Kerr Scott Lake (8 miles), Blue Ridge Parkway (7 miles), Boone, (20 minutes), Dan’l Boone Inn (25 minutes), West Jefferson (15 miles), Wilkesboro (9 miles), the Alpine Coaster and ski resorts (40 minutes), 5 local wineries, 25 parks (from 3 miles to 30 miles), Wilkesboro drag race, outdoor activities, and quaint spots all along the way. Whether you’re searching for trails and waterfalls, seeking treasures and antiques, enjoying music at Merlefest, or heading up for the Bike Rally or the Prohibition Hot Rod & Moonshine Festival, fishing or off-roaring, or cheering on the Mountaineers- we hope you’ll enjoy your stay at The Rainbow’s Edge. Few rentals accommodate guests with disabilities, yet Rainbow’s Edge main and lower levels are ADA accessible. Location is an hour and a half from Piedmont Triad and Charlotte. One hour from Winston Salem and the I40 split. Easy access from 421. Approximately 10 minutes outside of Wilkesboro.
