Peaceful and secluded hideaway
This secluded hideaway is ideal for those wanting to enjoy some peace and quiet and get away from it all. A 15th century restored stone house set amongst the olive groves. Standing 485 metres above sea level with 180° panoramic view over the Valle Umbra which reaches from Perugia in the north to Spoleto in the south. The house was fully restored in 2006 and has all modern conveniences such as underfloor heating, solar panels, wet room shower, wi-fi, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge freezer. The kitchen is well equipped and boasts a large dining table for entertaining. The lounge has exposed chestnut beams, high ceilings and comfortable seating. Both have spectacular views. The 2 ample, tranquil double bedrooms are downstairs so are cool in summer and both have doors leading straight out onto the garden. Outside there is a shady dining area for lunches al fresco, and sun loungers for relaxing with a good book. For the evenings there is a BBQ area at the front on the house from which to enjoy a glass of local Montefalco wine and enjoy the sun setting over the other side of the valley. The local town of Trevi is 10 minutes away by car and boasts a good selection of restaurants, a pizzeria with outside eating in the summer, two bars and a number of convenience stores. The town also has a large civic swimming pool with cafe which is open throughout the summer. Also 10 minutes away is a shopping mall with a large supermarket and other outlets. The house is accessed by a "white" non tarmaced road. A 4x4 vehicle is advisable. However a Jeep can be made available to transfer from the main road to the house if required. For those wanting some nightlife then Foligno is well worth a visit. It has a very good bar scene and a number of good restaurants. The house is an ideal base from which to visit the many stunning towns of Umbria. From Assisi to Montefalco, Foligno to Spello. There are many walking trails including the the San Francescan way which passes below the house. There are good train links to Rome and Florence both of which are approximately an hour and a half traveling time.
