Daymer Cottage, high on the cliffs of North Devon in a stunning location overlooking the sea, is a luxury,detached, family house, with uninterrupted sea and coastal views. Cliff top, garden terraces look out along the impressive N.T. coastline to Exmoor, with access to the Coastal Path from the front door & spectacular walks. It is a house for all seasons, a comfortable & restful retreat. The spacious light interiors, have a modern coastal style. Deep sofas, a log burning stove, a well equipped kitchen, with adjoining utility room , make this a hospitable place to come together with friends or family. There is wi-fi, Sky+ HD TV with a Bose docking station for iPods & a DVD player. Large glass doors look out to sea and open onto the verandahs, sun deck, & outside dining area. This is a warm house, with constant hot water, white cotton bed linen & towels. We also provide a selection of local produce including breakfast ingredients to make your arrival welcoming and comfortable . Finally , there is a parking area for 5 cars. The Garden and Beyond : Outside the house The decked verandah and dining area lead down to a lawn .A white picket fence separates the enclosed garden from the cliff and its spectacular view over the Bristol Channel . The decked areas which run around the back and side of the house provide a beautiful location to come together for a meal or a relaxing drink especially at sunset . It takes 5 mins to walk down to the local bay and there is a very pretty walk by the stream from the bay back up to the village pub and garden if a pit stop is required before climbing back up the hill! As well as the cliff walks westwards to Bull Point, Morte Hoe and Woolacombe or east to the Torrs and Ilfracombe, there are paths through the wood. Local Activities: Woolacombe Bay is perfect for those who want to surf or play on a beach. There are miles of golden sand and it has been designated one of the cleanest beaches in the Europe.It has good facilities for children and surfers. The high cliffs and headlands along this coast are popular with rock climbers. Lee Bay is a beautiful cove with rock pools for children to enjoy and at low tide , exposes a small sandy beach ideal for paddling etc . Exmoor National Park with its wild open spaces ,provides great walking, riding or cycling. There are also all the hidden villages with wonderful pubs to drink and eat in, as you explore the Park or bird/wildlife watch. Ilfracombe Harbour is the starting point for enjoying the coast by sea or rib. The Oldenburg Ferry sails from there to Lundy Island . Finally , the Keypitts Off -Road Adventure Centre can be found in the town . For golfers, there are the famous links courses, Royal North Devon and Saunton, as well as the less demanding local courses and ranges. Barnstaple is the largest market town in the area and its rivers are well renowned for fly fishing . The mild climate is great for gardens grand and small from RHS Rosemoor to specialist nurseries. .
