Kawau Beachfront Bliss

Welcome to Paradise. Pohutukawa Cottage on Idilic Kawau Island, this is a real Kiwi Bach. Leave the car behind and enjoy a totally stress free holiday. Fish off the private wharf or bring your own boat as there is great anchorage in the bay or a mooring available when we are not in residence. Hang out on the beach all day in summer or cosy up in winter enjoying the views out the front window. Swimming, bush walks, fishing, diving, visit the Historic Mansion House or a beer and burger at the Boat Club over the hill, there is never a dull moment here. But if thats what you want there can be plenty of those too. Two bedrooms on a fully fenced property, safe for the children. The Cottage suits couples or families, one bedroom has bunks and a single bed, and the other has two King singles that pushed together make a king. (Portocot available too). So we can comfortable sleep a family of five. Also there are two bathrooms, each has a shower and toilet plus one has a bath. The beach is very safe for swimming. To get to Kawau you have to park at Sandspit and catch either a water taxi (privates available too so it will pay to call and ask whats best for you with numbers and times) or large ferry. You will be dropped off at your own private wharf. It is just a two minute walk up to the house. Also there are no shops except The Boat Club , it's a 20/30 min walk over hilland suitable for most people though little children may need a little carry or use a backpack with toddlers as a few hills, or about the same around the rocks when the tides out. They have some supplies and a pub with food and cold beer. You will need to bring all your your food and some extra loo paper incase, but a few basics supplied at the bach. Please bring own towels, Linen, pillowcases and tea towels. Everything else supplied. Check in from 2pm, check out from 11pm We have 2 Childrens Kayaks and 3 Adult ones for your use found behind the house (in summer usually on the beaching front) and shared with the boathouse next door and our property so just grab when free. Please supply own life jackets though. There is also a dingy under a tarp in the front garden to use but please ask where the oars are kept as we have had them go missing in past and now have to hide them. A great relaxing holiday for the whole family you will never forget. ** to make sure its a legit booking please only make payments by NZ bank deposit as there are spams going on with other payments. Special conditions: Kawau is Unique that there are no cars, you must park your car over at The Sandspit out of Warkworth and catch a Ferry over.There is a safe Council car park at the Spit. A timetable can be found online at Kawau Island Ferries. I will email all info over before your stay ;and if I forget please remind me) HALF DEPOSIT WILL SECURE YOUR BOOKING SMOKING ALLOWED OUTSIDE DOWN BEACH ONLY. NO PETS ALL RUBBISH TO BE TAKEN WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE. Bins at sandspit for disposal ONE WEEK MIN BOOKINGS ONLY PLEASE OVER XMAS/NEW YEAR...thanks otherwise 2 night minimum but please understand winter months may be harder to rent due to us not being on the island to check and clean so do try but it will be on a basis to basis acceptance. NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Leave the place tidy and everything back where you found it, please clean BBQ but the cleaner will do the rest.
