The Colville Country Cottage is a lovely old-fashioned country home, conveniently located in the middle of Colville Village, across the road from the iconic Colville General Store, and two popular cafes - The Foragers Kitchen and The Hereford n a Pickle Farmshop and Cafe. Also within walking distance - a post office, a health centre, a tennis court, and the Himalaya Shop, selling beautiful Indian and Asian style clothes, linens and gifts. A short drive south will bring you to White Star Station for horse trekking and tramping, and to the Mahamudra Centre Buddhist Centre. A short walk north takes you to the Colville Foreshore picnic area, where you can swim, soak in the sun, or tick all those shorebirds off your birdwatching list. There are walking tracks nearby and bicycle-friendly roads. With this central location you are in the perfect place to launch into day trips around the peninsula and be back in time for an evening sip on the wide, wrap-around verandah, enjoying the view of Mount Moehau in the distance. The house itself is rustic but full of light and character. There is a large, well-stocked kitchen, two large lounge areas, one with a cosy wood stove for chilly evenings, and one with a TV and space for a workout if that's your thing! There are three bedrooms, one twin with two single beds, one with a double and one with a queen. There is one shared bath with shower and old-fashioned tub, a separate toilet and space for hanging dripping swimsuits or damp towels. We provide basic bedding such as mattress and pillow protectors, duvet inners and covers, and extra blankets. Please bring your own sheets, pillowcases and towels, or you can rent them from us at $15 per bed, per stay, payable on arrival.
