I moved to the village of Upton Scudamore 15 years ago, it is a very sought after village. I love the peace, friendliness and quietness of the village. It is not a drive through village so the roads are only used for villagers coming in and visitors. The local village pub opens all day, serving excellent food and take out food. Surrounded in beautiful countryside yet easy access to Frome, surrounding villages and pubs. Close to longleat safari and lots of fantastic tourist attractions. The village has a warm friendly vibe, hence why properties rarely come on the market here. You won’t want to leave. Upton Scudamore, Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom The cottage is situated in Upton Scudamore. The village is a peaceful non drive through village surrounded in stunning countryside and it has a church, a local pub “La Campagna” Bar & Restaurant which serves excellent food and is 100 yards walk away. Upton Scudamore is situated on the edge of Salisbury plain, and there are many good walks and excellent hiking routes in the area (some directly from the cottage). Longleat House and safari park, Heavens gate with spectacular views and center Parcs is 3 miles, attracting keen cyclists and walkers. Wonderful woodland walks and mountain biking surrounds this area. Stourhead house and gardens, Alfreds tower. This is a great location with so many places to visit and things to do all within a 30 min drive. Frome’s thriving friendly culture, vintage trading, giant monthly Artisan markets & vibrant arts festival scene, cobbled Hills, fantastic restaurants and thriving cafes, galleries and music venues is now one of the high places to live & visit, only 7 miles. Another short journey 12 miles away is the town of Bradford-on-Avon. The towns canal , historic buildings, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants make it popular with tourists. We are surrounded by beautiful villages, one being Mells hidden in the mendip hills with wonderful pub, walks and walled gardens. Lot’s of wonderful village pubs a short drive away. Bath is so near only 16 miles, a great city with a good vibe, architectural treasures at the circus, Royal cresent & rooftop spa. You can also visit the beautiful city of Wells only a 20 miles and Glastonbury Tor. Popular town of Bruton only 14 miles. So much to see and do you will be spoilt for choice.
