Southcott dates back over 100 years and retains many of its lovely period features. It is set back from the main road only 1.5 miles from the friendly market town of Holsworthy, with its weekly Pannier Market, offers a range of amenities including banks, post office, leisure centre with a heated salt water pool, sports hall, 18 hole golf course, ‘Waitrose’ and ‘Co-op’ supermarkets, M&S Foodhall, doctors and a hospital. There is also a small petrol station with a shop a few hundred yards away. Entrance porch opens into a generous hallway that has a lovely wow factor. The open plan sitting room, dining Room and Kitchen/Breakfast Room with its high ceilings and original features offer comfortable, spacious living areas to spread into. The kitchen is extremely well equipped within extra fridge and freezer in the kitchen and utility area. A real home from home kitchen. The house offers 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, 2 Bathroom (1 en-suit) and a downstairs cloakroom. At the rear, there is a utility area with a washing machine and a condenser tumble dryer. The first floor offers a luxurious, spacious en-suite double bedroom, with a Jacuzzi bath and roomy shower. The house sits in a 3/4 of an acre lovely garden filled with mature trees and shrubs, offering ample space for rest and relaxation. There are two outdoor seating area ideal for alfresco dining and a fire pit to enjoy the full moon or those star filled skies. There is a pond in the garden which makes it unsuitable for children under 8 years old. The house is situated off the main road so it is not easy to just go for a walk. However, there a filling station/convenience store two minutes along the road from the house, with a raised verge to walk along. We also have a static caravan available for larger groups. A traditional Market town, Holsworthy is one of the most rural yet beautiful areas in Devon! Each Wednesday, there is a Pannier Market, where locals mingle with visitors in the Market Square. This is the hub of rural life in our little town. Holsworthy has a range of essential services. A variety of small shops clustered around the square, which includes, several pubs, cafes, banks, medical centre, dentist, community hospital, sports gym and a large modern Memorial Hall, which always holds events and activities. As well as a new state of the art and thriving cattle market. Holsworthy market and fair charters are believed to date from the 12th Century. St Peter’s Fair week is held in early July each year. The main event of the week is the crowning of the Pretty Maid. Holsworthy offers the best of both worlds - the peace of the countryside and yet easy access to the major attractions of Devon and Cornwall.
