Gorgeous shepherd's hut in Dorset's water meadows
This is a gorgeous new shepherds hut adjoining a listed thatched cottage with a stream running through the garden and alongside the hut. The hut is quiet and peaceful being at the end of a small lane petering out into protected water meadows. Look out of your window and you see coots and ducks in the stream. Step straight into the water meadows and see herons and kingfishers. In a word, idyllic. The hut is top of the range, stylish and cosy, with solid oak fittings, pewter closures and inspired carpentry. It is made by a company leading the field in environmentally friendly huts, beautifully designed and hand crafted with thoughtful attention to detail (the walls are padded with sheep's wool) The hut is completely self contained with everything you need during your stay. There's a kitchen area with fridge, toaster, kettle, and hob and a small table and two chairs. The double bed adjoins a small wardrobe and has ample storage in drawers beneath. The separate shower room is equipped with fluffy towels and robes and toiletries. There is outside space with a garden area, outdoor seating area, together with a grassy area by the stream, all for your own private use. The hut has its own gate entry and parking space, in addition to the outdoor seating and grassy area. The hut is managed by a highly efficient and professional mother and daughter team, who look after several properties in the area and live locally and will promptly address any queries. The surrounding water meadows are rich in wild life. There's a wide range of birds, including owls and warblers, together with stoats, hedgehogs and the odd water snake! There's a great spot for wild swimming, just minutes walk away. Six miles away are the local beauty spots Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door and the nearby Purbeck Hills offer wonderful opportunities for coastal walks. Corfe Castle, is a 20 minute drive away as is Kimmeridge Bay and Studland. The village of Wool, a three quarter mile walk away, has direct rail links to Waterloo, and to Weymouth and the local village store is incredibly well stocked and open from 8.30am until 10pm every day of the week. 3/4 mile from railway station; direct lines to Weymouth, Poole, Dorchester and London Waterloo. Because the hut is next to a thatched cottage, barbecues and any other outdoor fires are not allowed. No smoking Indoor shoes only please
