GREAT LOCATION, WHOLE HOUSE ON HAMILTON HILL This beautiful heritage house with loads of character is the perfect stay in Newcastle. Built 1849, this house has recently been lovingly restored and furnished with all the mod cons to make sure your stay is an experience in relaxed style and comfort. The AA Company House was built for mine managers in 1849 and is one of the oldest surviving colliery structures in Australia and one of Newcastle’s oldest buildings. This house not only shares the story of Newcastle’s history but has all the makings for the perfect get away! LONG OR SHORT TERM STAY: We have priced this listing based on short term stays but are happy to talk through pricing for longer term stays. THE SPACE: • Impressive 3-bedroom historical house built in 1849, fully restored in 2019 and updated to include central heating, high end fixtures, European appliances and original artworks throughout. Bedroom 1 - Queen bed and plenty of wardrobe space Bedroom 2 - Single bed that converts to ‘pull out’ Queen bed, hanging robe and drawers. Bedroom 3 (upstairs) - Queen bed in built in sleeping quarters - Single bed Upstairs generous attic room with desk overlooking views of the racecourse and to the east Newcastle’s CBD bright lights. Has a hanging robe. Please note that this is a historical house so the stairs up to the attic space are on the narrow side and steep but able to be climbed with care. Bathroom 1 - Beautiful main bathroom with luxurious slipper bath and ‘rain’ shower. Bathroom 2 - The veranda leads to a second bathroom with toilet, shower and Bosch washing machine/dryer. Kitchen • Industrial inspired contemporary kitchen fully equipped with miele dishwasher, gas cooktop, fan forced oven and benchtop appliances to cater for all your gastronomical needs. This kitchen is a real pleasure to cook in! Its refurbished original cast Iron stove and wood fired oven also add to the warmth and character of this space. 2 Grand living rooms: One light filled with lounges, desk and reading table, bookcase full of interesting books, puzzles and games as well as Bluetooth ready speaker system to connect to your playlists; The other living room has a formal dining table, cosy couches, TV, DVD player + DVD library, and Chromecast so you can stream directly from your phone. Outdoor areas • Private, spacious and perfect sunny north- facing courtyard with large table and sun umbrella and Webber BBQ for outdoor entertainment in comfort and style. •A generous veranda spans two lengths of the house spilling out onto lovely lawn area. Garden beds border this historic house creating privacy and giving this unique block a secret gardens feel with pretty flowering plants and an array of herbs to use by the kitchen.
