With 360 views of beautiful mountains, our home is a great start point for canyoneering, beach activities + many more! Taking the concept of “glamping” a step further, the concept of Sun Xi Mountain Retreat is in the name - It’s a retreat away from city life, away from your buzzing phone, email notifications, (Hidden by Airbnb) addictions, traffic, noise and air pollution, and all the other burdens of todays society, while maintaining modern comforts and luxuries in our guest casitas. Each Casita comes with comfortable queen bed(s), a private bathroom and beautiful unobstructed views of the mountains. We accommodate anyone with no discriminations, from individual travellers, to couples, families, corporate, school, religious or charity groups. *PLEASE NOTE, we do not actually have air-con units because the temperature on our mountain top is roughly 18 to 25 degrees celsius so we don't need it - we have natural air-conditioning! And pack a jumper! Surrounding Sun Xi Mountain Retreat are literally thousands of hectares of natural landscapes - providing endless adventure activities for ornithologists (bird watchers), walkers, bikers, spelunkers (cavers), hand-gliders, golfers, fishing, canoeing (at Lumpan Lake), climbing, the famous Kawasan canyoneering, ab-sailing waterfalls, bathing in thermal hot-springs….the list is endless. The start of the KANLAOB River, which hosts all the Canyoneering activity and which eventually ends in Badian at the Kawasan Falls just a few hundred metres from the accommodation. At this point it’s just a small stream but for the real adventurers this is THE expedition. Within (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes from our home, the “M-BAM coastline” (Moalboal, Badian, Alegria & Malabuyoc) stretches some (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) kms where all the water sports activities you can imagine are possible. We have our own private beach with some kayaks and local “Bangka” boats free for use for our guests and can provide a shuttle down to the beach (small extra charge) or you can rent a car or scooter from us (self drive or with driver). If you are just looking for restful peace and quiet, then throughout the day and night you can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the gardens, surrounding farm-lands and magnificent 360 "heaven on earth" scenery. Read a book (or 2 or 3), listen to music, write a song, paint a picture, bird-watch, weather-watch or star-gaze. If you like to "do stuff" as part of your vacation, you are most welcome to join the project with some farming, gardening, animal husbandry, constructing, landscaping, teaching / volunteering at the local elementary school. If you are looking for lots of other tourists, bars, clubs, internet connection, movies, tv, this is NOT the place for you. Sun Xi Mountain Retreat - Relax. Rejuvenate. Recreate. You will have access to your private Casita and all the surrounding grounds and gardens that is part of our land. You will also have access to "The Barn" - a lounge / bar / and kitchen where you can cook for yourselves (with advance notice). Alternatively, you can choose to order from our lovely homecooked menu, or take our shuttle down the mountain and enjoy some local food in Alegria town. You will also have access to "The Barn" - a lounge / bar / and kitchen where you can order food of cook for yourselves - please make sure to plan ahead and bring groceries with you if you plan to cook for yourselves, the closest supermarket is in Moalboal about a half hour drive away, or there are little stores in Alegria market that have vegetable produce and canned goods. If you give us a list of ingredients that we can purchase in advance for you as well. If you plan on cooking for yourself, please let us know before booking as we need to make sure the kitchen is available for you. Alternatively we have a lovely little homecooked menu! We whip you up a local meal for an extra charge to be paid in cash! Please note that we don't keep much stock on the property so preparation time might include running down to the closest store to get something so it's better to order something in advance. You are also welcome to hire a vehicle from us or take our shuttle down into town and enjoy something from any of the many canteens in Alegria, and we are happy to recommend our favourites to you! We leave our guests to enjoy their own personal space and make themselves at home here, but are around or easily contactable if needed. We have a small group of staff during day / evening hours as well for cooking and cleaning. Lepanto Alegria Cebu is a beautiful little mountain town where the people live off the land. Here, instead of seeing highways, cars, and buildings, you'll see carabaos and acres of lush green land. You'll hear birds chirping and goats baa-ing instead of sirens and city noise. You'll smell the fresh mountain air that surrounds our property instead of the city smog. The main town of Alegria (a 15 drive down the mountain) you'll find a gorgeous and vibrant coastal down with smiling locals and merry markets to overload your senses. Towns north and south of Alegria (Moalboal, Badian to the north, Malabuyoc to Santander to the south) open the door to a near infinite amount of adventures to be had. *April (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Update: Please note that due to Covid-19 social distancing measures, our shuttle service is suspended. We require our guests to have their own means of transport getting here and getting around. Thank you! GETTING HERE: While we are far from from it, getting here from Cebu City is a breeze with multiple options. 1) Subject to availability, we can provide a premium and private transfer from most places on Cebu Island, Cebu City or Mactan International Airport for an extra charge. Please let us know if you want to book this as far in advance as you can as it is subject to availability, let us know pick up point, date and time and how many guests so we can provide you a quote. 2) Next up, you can arrange your own grab taxi / airport taxi. The cost of these is up to the driver / taxi company but generally are around P3,500 - P4,500 one way. Please note that most drivers will only take you to the main town area of Alegria so you will still need to arrange your shuttle up to the mountain to us. Our shuttle from Alegria town up to our mountain home ranges from P90 - P140 per person depending on the number of people in your travel group. 3) Jimmy’s Taxi - Jimmy is our go-to grab taxi guy who charges P (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and brings you all the way up to our mountain home but needs to be arranged in advance so please let me know if you want to book Jimmy’s Taxi. 4) Finally, the most cost effective but longer option is the Ceres Liner bus. This is a big yellow bus you can catch from Cebu South Bus Terminal in Cebu City. The bus you want to hop on is one going "South to Bato Via Barilli". Let the driver know you want to alight at Alegria Municipal Hall. Like the grab taxi option above, you can either grab a motorcycle taxi up the mountain to us, just tell the guy "Sun Xi Mountain Retreat / Resort" and he will know where to go. Alternatively, if you're not comfortable with the motorcycle option, or its late in the night etc, you can let us know 30 minutes before arriving in Alegria and we can have a shuttle ready for you to bring you up. Alternatively you can choose to head to our beach and be picked up there. Our shuttle from Alegria town up to our mountain home ranges from P90 - P140 per person depending on the number of people in your travel group. 5) rent your own car and drive to us. We are on both (Hidden by Airbnb) maps and waze. If you are bringing your own car, let us know so we can free up some space in the garage for you to park in. ONCE YOU ARE HERE: We have a shuttle that operates throughout the day. We will give you the number of the shuttle driver once you have arrived so you can call him when you need a pick up or give him a time to collect you when he drops you somewhere. Our shuttle prices are very affordable ranging from P40 - P650 max depending on where you are being shuttled to/from and the number of persons in your group. We also have the option to rent a car from us (self drive) for various prices depending on type of car and if you'd like to rent our scooter from us this is P500 for 12 hours. You can also rent a car from the city for your stay or more scooters if needed from various different dealers in Moalboal. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU FULLY UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING: 1. Our home is mainly a technology free zone. A place to switch off and disconnect from the madness of the world so we do NOT offer wifi. 2. There are two cell towers nearby so if you have local sim card that gives you data you can find certain spots on the property that might give you signal, but in our humble opinion - put down your phone and take a look around ;) 3. If you are heavily dependant on Wifi / Cell Signal - we are not the place for you. 4. Alternatively, you can head down to town, or our beach where we have wifi. We highly recommend you get a local sim card for your travels. They are very easy to obtain at any convenient store or the airport. We personally recommend GLOBE over SMART. 5. Our shuttle service is an extra charge depending on where you are picked up from / going to, starting from P45 per person (per trip) and up. 6. We stock our kitchen if and when we have a booking and all our meals are home-cooked. For the best experience possible please allow time for us to prepare your food for you if you’re ordering from us or better yet, order your meals in advance! 7. We do not actually have air-conditioning. We have naturally lower temperatures due to the altitude that allows us to live without it. 8. We have (friendly) animals that live on our property. 9. You will need to climb 100 steps to get up to our home from the parking area
