Minden Meadows is a little slice of country close to the city. Whether you are looking for a romantic weekend away or easy access to nearby hubs we invite you to feel right at home on our lifestyle farm. Rotorua, Matamata & Whakatane all within an hours drive. 12-20 mins from Mt Maunganui and Tauranga CBD Minden Meadows is a 1-acre lifestyle farm in an area locals refer to as "The Minden" in Te Puna. Built in the 1950’s, the separate cottage was one of the original farm dwellings in the area. Once lived in it has been lovingly refurbished utilising the original barn doors as features. Complete with WiFi and Netflix, feel free to make this comfortable little cottage your home away from home. The cottage has its own private patio complete with a BBQ. There is plenty of parking and if required, guests can request access to our washing machine and dryer. The cottage is next door to our family home but has been designed and planted to ensure privacy. We are a small working family of 3 who are happy to help or leave you in peace to enjoy your stay. We have backgrounds in hospitality and tourism so if you’d like to tap into our knowledge we’d love to share inspiration and ideas for your travels. The Minden is well known for its lifestyle and stunning views towards Tauranga's harbour and Mauao (Mount Maunganui). At the bottom of Minden Road, locals gravitate to Te Puna Village which offers a cafe, deli, the White House restaurant, clothing boutiques, liquor store, butcher and convenience store. Also highly recommended is Clarke Road Kitchen and the Sandali homestore just a little further up the road. A short trip to the lookout at the top of the hill will offer more superb views. Nature lovers and garden enthusiasts will be keen to explore nearby Te Puna Quarry Park, a hidden gem 2 minutes drive from Minden Meadows. You can walk to Te Puna Village (700m) otherwise you will need a vehicle to access other amenities. Uber and taxis will pick up and drop off although we highly recommend booking. We have a brood of farm animals including sheep, free roaming chickens, a friendly and well behaved miniature schnauzer puppy 'Wicket'. He will bark when you arrive on the property but it is just to let his parents know you are here. Depending on the time of year we may be able to offer you fresh produce from Minden Meadows including free range eggs and spray free macadamia nuts, oranges, clementines, grapefruit, grapes, lemons and limes. Minden Meadows is a great base for AIMS Games accommodation. Please note if you are booking for the One Love, Bay Dreams or other festivals we do strictly enforce the 2 person only and no party rules.
