Coachman’s 2 bedroom Cottage is situated in the grounds of Trenoweth House, a beautiful former vicarage that is in a rural setting 7 miles from Helston. As well as your own private garden, guests also have shared access to the orchard, woodland and swimming lake, all set within just over three acres of land that is enjoyed by all guests that stay here. Woodman's Cottage (sleeps 2), Gardener's Cottage (sleeps 2) and Trenoweth House (sleeps 12) can also be booked with this property. Coachmans cottage is the largest of the three cottages that are on site and whilst each has its own space, the cottages are near to each other and the man vicarage. The Gardens – The gardens are for everyone to enjoy, including guests staying in the other cottages and the main house. The majority of the gardens are long meadow grass and the cut oval lawn is newly seeded and isn’t fully established yet. We would be really grateful if you could ‘keep off this particular grass’ for now! We do hope you will have an explore though and follow the paths from the walled kitchen garden and down to our swimming lake. Please see the enclosed plan for some things to look out for. The Lake - Our freshwater swimming lake is filled by the River Hayle which starts its journey to the sea in our village – Crowan. If you’re feeling adventurous – do take a dip! But please bring your own beach towels to the lake.Do not be tempted to dive and take care on entering and exiting the water – there may be sharp stones etc. chickens – At the bottom of the kitchen garden you will find our resident chickens – four Black Rocks and two Doreys keep us going in eggs and are always thrilled to see people. NB the run is protected by an electric fence, which runs all the way round, so please do take care and make sure small children and dogs are aware. One of our team will be up to make sure the chickens are fed and watered but no one will be on site before 10 am. They will love most of your vegetable peelings if you would like to give them a treat and love apples and pasta in particular but NB – they are strictly vegetarian! Either way – they love a chat and a natter. Team Trenoweth – Our team are fantastic and join us in wishing you a wonderful stay. If you need to contact them or us … General Manager – Chris is based in Praze an Beebble - A genuine font of local knowledge, brilliant problem solver and all round super duper chap. Tel (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Housekeeper – The lovely Pip is based up the road in Trevarno and also knows a thing or two. She and her team are super friendly and helpful. Tel (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Maintenance and Gardens – Paul and Greg. You might just have the odd sighting of either of these two lovelies … but then again.. you might not and definitely not before 10 am.If you do – they are also super chaps! Dan and Amanda – we’re lucky enough to call Trenoweth home. Do call us if you have any issues (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) The estate is set back from a tranquil, winding country lane between Crowan, a pretty hamlet up the hill and Praze an Beeble, a larger village with a shop and post office, the all important pasty shop, a fish and chip shop and a pub. To each side of the estate is rolling countryside and there are public footpaths and walks from the house to the village and beyond. It is a real haven – away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal villages yet less than ten minutes to the nearest beach. Other than the country walks described above one needs a car here, or a bike. There's plenty of parking space.
