Ideal base for exploring Dorset coast and country
The garden room is a delightful, quaint building originally a piggery, It is decorated to the highest standard in a contemporary style and is a lovely calm space, in which to relax and enjoy your stay. Modern dimmable downllighting and smaller lamps give a bright or more muted feel according to your need. Central heating makes it warm and cosy in the cooler weather. Egyptian cotton sheets give a luxurious feel to the kingsize bed and ensure a comfortable nights rest. Accommodation on one level. The sitting room has a basket of cosy fleece throws and the tea and coffee making facilities mean you can cosy up with a freshly made cup of tea on the sofa, in the soft white bathrobes provided. There is also an Amazon 'Echo dot' (AKA Alexa ) so that you can sit and listen to music / radio of your choice.The shower is separate from the toilet and washroom and is bright and modern, there is a one foot high step up into the shower. The Garden room aims to provide boutique style accommodation and a little bit of luxury for guests to relax , unwind and enjoy. All bedding is super fresh and anti allergy. Please note, although we love babies and children the Garden Room is set up as an ideal 'retreat' / getaway for 2 adults only and is not suitable or set up to provide for little ones, having neither the space nor the facilities to cater adequately for little peoples needs. The Garden room would make a great base for anyone staying in the area for work, and is 100yds from the nearest breakfast / evening meal outlet. The Garden Room, does not have a kitchen, but has tea and coffee making facilities, wine glasses, mugs, china tea plates and cups, and cutlery, plus disposable plates, in short everything you need for light snacks. In the warmer weather you can eat outside in the gravel garden where there is a bistro set of table and chairs for two. Also we are in the centre of the village, 100 yards from a Marks and Spencer Foodhall, a Tesco Local, and several cafes where you can eat breakfast, as well as many restaurants for evening meals all within a 5 minute walk. Most of the restaurants offer a takeaway service these include, Pizzas/Chinese/Curry/Thai. Please note, much as we are animal lovers, we are sorry, but we do not allow dogs or pets of any kind in The Garden Room Guests are welcome to sit in the gravel courtyard to the side of the entrance. Owners will be available on most occasions. Home made cream tea, light breakfast may sometimes be available on request, for an agreed extra cost, please enquire after check in. Broadstone is a busy village with 18 cafes / restaurants and bars , gin bar, and Mark Bennet's artisan bakery. Shops include a Marks and Spencer food hall, Boots chemist and local post office / banks. We are just a step away form all the above being right in the centre of Broadstone, therefore it is easy to eat at one of the restaurants and stroll back without having to worry about parking or driving after you have enjoyed a glass of wine with your meal. Local buses are a 2 minute walk away on the main high street. Traffic free cycle routes close by. Poole train station is approx 3 miles away. There is parking for one vehicle immediately outside the Garden Room, there is ample free street parking nearby and a large car park opposite which is free overnight.The Garden room makes an ideal base for exploring the Purbecks, the Jurassic Coast, Swanage, Wimborne, Weymouth, Wareham , Dorchester, Poole & Bournemouth, and the many other beautiful places to explore in and around Dorset, it is also an ideal base to stay for events such as the Bournemouth Air Festival, and the Bournemouth Christmas lights and German market (with Bournemouth just a 20 minute drive away ) as well as The Great Dorset Steam Fair, and Wimborne Folk Festival, and the renowned Sculpture by The Lakes with it's idyllic setting, celebrating Arts/ crafts and treating the mind, body and soul. Broadstone is on the outskirts of Poole, with Poole town centre a 10 minute drive away. The beautiful golden sandy beaches of Sandbanks are a 15 minute drive away with the ferry available from the end of the Sandbanks peninsula, to take you over to the stunning expanse of Studland Bay beach and National Trust reserve. The Garden Room is also convenient for the ferry port of Poole, which is appprox 15 minute drive, and Bournemouth Airport which is approx 30 minute drive away.
