An oasis of calm. The newly renovated, eclectic, luxury house is set amongst the vines. Each and every space is the house has a unique fingerprint, with a wide array of artwork, a feature four poster bed, stunning double aspect ceilings and exposed beams. The retreat is set on the Bartinney wine estate, where you can stroll through the vines and relax at the Tasting Shed, enjoying the unrivalled mountain views. We aim to make every stay with us memorable, providing a personalised service. The Wild Olive House is completely private. There is a private garden and spacious veranda, complete with a braai. For the cooler months there is a cosy fire in the spacious living room. There is also a complete kitchen and washing machine for your use. Take your pick from three wonderful bedrooms in the house, each made-up with luxurious bedding. An eclectic, artistic double room, the feature four-poster room, or a luxurious king room (which can be made up as two single beds). Two full bathrooms, with luxurious deep baths and walk-in showers, full kitchen and living spaces creates a home away from home that you will never want to leave. Set on a historic, family wine estate this cottage creates nostalgia, a stunning spot that you will never want to leave - but do go out and explore there is lots to see! Please note that as a WWF Conservation Partner all of the Bartinney Private Cellar cottages do not have central heating but heaters and fans are available upon request. Guests will have access to the garden and surrounds. The cottage is situated on a private and secure gated wine estate. There issafe parking. There are a few steps to walk down from the parking to the house. Please be aware that check-in is strictly between 2pm and 5pm and hosts require an estimated time of arrival prior to the day of check-in. I am available and will help with any restaurant reservations, guides to good spots close by. If you want a chat, I'm more than happy to converse over a glass of wine. The house is situated on a historic wine estate set on the Helshoogte Pass in Stellenbosch. Various restaurants just a stone throw away. Explore both delicious dining and wine tasting at nearby estates and restaurants in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The Bartinney Estate Tasting Shed is open from Monday - Thursday, 12-5pm, Saturday 12-3pm and Friday 12-8pm. It is a popular spot for sundowner drinks and nibbles on the stunning terrace, on Friday evening You can use taxi services, Uber, or feel free to rent a car (Cape Town, or Stellenbosch). Central Stellenbosch is 15 minutes away from the estate, whilst Franschoek is 30 minutes away. There are 4 friendly dogs on the farm. There are a few steps to climb before reaching the house. Please take note that we are a self-catering facility and he cottages are serviced during the week, but service is limited on weekends and only available when pre-arranged with your host for R150.00 per day. Should you wish to have your cottage serviced please communicate this with the host to arrange prior to your stay with us. Feel free to join us for a complimentary Wine Tasting at the Tasting Shed. We provide milk, tea, juice and coffee tray and basic toiletries.
