It’s the perfect escape from urban life to a more rural setting while barely leaving the convenience and comforts of city life. There is a small village store selling basic groceries, fuel and takeaway food located just a 5-minute stroll down the road. Post Office Retreat is roughly a 20 minute drive from the Ballarat CBD. There is no public transport available. Taxi services are available, but can be costly. Roads to the Cottage are completely sealed and are accessible with any kind of vehicle. There is a 2 car carport available exclusively to cottage guests. We have a portacot and high chair available on request. The portacot will be set up with a fitted sheet but all other linen will need to be provided by guests for this (portacot only). Please advise at the time of making your booking if these are required. There is a lot of wild life local to Ross Creek, including some endangered bird species. Kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, yellow-tailed black cockatoos and parrots are commonly seen on the property. Most mornings kangaroos commonly are found feeding on grassed areas of the property, including in the fenced area of the Cottage. Please try not to approach these animals.
