A comfortable jump in the past!
Come to see us in our historical palace: you'll enjoy a charming countryside and a beautiful seaside. Let you taste homemade cooking in a small inn or let you try one of the best italian restaurant. All these things and much more, you'll discover ... The Lodging Our property is to be found in Ostra Vetere, a small medieval town in the Italian Marches (Le Marche) region, just a few kilometres from the "velvety" beaches of Senigallia, so-called on account of the softness of their sand. It is not an old apartment, it is rather the "piano nobile", the main floor of an historical palace, once belonging to the Franceschini counts. There are at your disposal 3 bedrooms (sleeping 8 people), 2 living rooms and a large dining room, as well as a kitchen and a bathroom, for a total of about 300 square metres. There is certainly no lack of space! The furnishings are antique, the ceilings of the living rooms and bedrooms are decorated in stucco and with 16th century paintings, the floors are in the original Italian polychrome "cotto" tiling and in the dining room there is a great brick fireplace for cooking grilled and roast meat and fish in company with friends. Although your stay with us will take you back in time, you will also have all the necessary modern comforts: digital TV, Wi-Fi internet, dishwasher etc. The apartment is entirely at your disposal. In the palace there are 2 other apartments which are, however, not currently occupied by the owners. In the months of July and August my sister and I will be present to welcome you and to illustrate to you the special qualities of the place and give you all the necessary advice and tips to enable you to have an unforgettable holiday. In other periods of the year you will have a person entrusted by us at your disposal and you will of course always be able to contact us via email and mobile phone. You will be struck by the beauty of the local Marches hills and their incredible sunsets, which you can admire from the little Piazzetta del Municipio in which the palace is located. The neighborhood is full of cultural and gastronomic attractions, lying in the heart of the Verdicchio classico region where you can buy the wonderful local wine and savour the fantastic regional cuisine in some of the finest restaurants in Italy. Apart from the local wine producers, we can also recommend where to buy the best meat, cheese and vegetables directly from the nearby farms. On summertime you can participate in some of the many local food fairs. There is also a big shopping outlet just an hour's drive away, nearby Macerata, where you can buy brand name clothes and shoes at a discount. If you are nature lovers in an hour you can reach the Conero Riviera with its wonderful rocky coast (a rarity on the Adriatic!) and dive into the crystalline blue water. If you prefer lovely beaches and not to have to drive too far, Senigallia is just a quarter of an hour away. Inland there are the spectacular Grotte di Frasassi, mountain climbing on Monte Catria and Monte Nerone, you can visit the ancient hermitages, discover some of the many wonderful old towns nearby: Jesi, S. Leo, S. Marino, the sanctuary of Loreto and, above all, Urbino, the birthplace of Raphael and the perfect Renaissance city. And many , many others. We have prepared numerous itineraries for you so you will be spoilt for choice! Transport: there is a coach service connecting Ostra Vetere with the train station of Senigallia but it is advisable to have a car. The nearest airports are Falconara Marittima (45km) and Rimini (85 km). The port is Ancona (36 km). The nearest main train station is Jesi from where you can get the Eurostar to Rome (2/3 hours). On winter is required an extra charge for heating. The price will depend on the lenght of your stay.
