Our Scandinavian-style retreat is ideal for a short or extended stay. It is the perfect place to keep your family secluded and entertained, while you remain connected to key transportation lines (LIRR) and in walking distance to a grocery store, pharmacy, post office, and other key amenities located in beautiful Bellport Village. The owner-architect has removed the attic level to open the space completely, migrated the third bedroom to the lower level, transforming the space into a bright and airy beach bunglalow-style home that's perfect for a family, or a small group of friends to share. On the main floor, a large, open living / kitchen / dining area is perfect for entertaining and relaxing. The huge new kitchen opens to a back deck with grill and outdoor seating. The living room features two comfy sofas (sleeps 2), television, wood burning stove, ceiling fan, and a mix of modern furnishings and carefully selected antiques, including a clawfoot tiger oak dining table that seats 8. Two bedrooms on the main floor sleep one couple in Bedroom 1 (queen), plus up to four in bunks in Bedroom 2. There's also a small loft for bigger kids to play or sleep. A new tiled bathroom with pedestal sink and bathtub / shower combo is both convenient and private. On the lower level, which is partially underground and *not* ideal for winter rentals due to the cold, a third bedroom / media room scales up with a pullout sleeper sofa (sleeps 2), and one bunk bed. This room serves double duty as a media room with its large television and Roku for streaming movies (BYO Amazon and Netflix login!). An operable window provides fresh air and guests can find the control for a full house dehumidifier here as well. Privacy is provided by a large rolling barn door, which separates the room from the main downstairs area with its ping pong table and small sofa that converts to a queen size sleeper! It's also on the lower level that you'll find the second bathroom with shower, a cedar-lined sauna room, and beautiful sink area. Last, a full laundry completes the checklist for everything a family needs. Guests have access to all areas, except one storage room and boiler room reserved for the owners. While we will not be present for your stay, we have someone nearby who can help you if you need it. We are taking extra care to social distance and follow AirBnB cleaning and disinfecting guidelines, a protocol informed by CDC recommendations. If you’re looking in Bellport, you probably already know its reputation as a small, historic village that attracts creative people who enjoy the relaxed vibe and easy commute from NYC. Bellport is an amazing summer destination because the Village operates a ferry that crosses daily to Ho-hum beach on Ferry Island, and also maintains Mother’s Beach on the Great South Bay. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Village-issued resident card is required to board the ferry when it is operational. Tennis, golf, and other amenities may also be available for long term stays with a Village-issued resident card. More information is available on the Village website. What makes our place particularly special is that you will not need a car to get here, or to get around. Take the LIRR to the Bellport station, and we’re a 5 minute Lyft ride from the train. Everything the village has to offer—shops, restaurants, summer theater and marina—is a short walk or delivery away. Bellport Village is picture-perfect with a small town vibe, all while being remarkably and easily accessible to NYC. In walking distance are a marina, grocery store, pharmacy, organic market, beautiful public library, post office, and a large outdoor running track / sports fields. The downstairs level can be a bit chilly in the winter months. In the summer, it's divine, as it stays very cool! The closest public beach is Smith Point County Park.
