Apartment under the Cathedral
Beautiful upstairs apartment in the heart of the historic fortified city. On the first floor a spacious living room, toilet, separate modern kitchen, followed by a beautiful roof terrace with a view of the Cathedral of St. Jan. On the 2nd floor, 2 spacious bedrooms, each with a bed with 2 separate mattresses in a conversion, spacious bathroom with shower, bath, double sink, 2nd toilet .. My space is ideal for families, couples, business travelers and expats. The very well-equipped house is located in a unique location, right in the center of the city, wonderfully bustling when you step out the door and where you will find a cozy and varied mix of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, more in the heart of the city almost impossible. After a night out, a theater visit or delicious food in the Burgundian atmosphere of the city center, it is nice to wake up in one of the 2 large bedrooms. The double beds have 2 separate mattresses in 1 frame, which makes it possible to make a 1x2-person or 2x1-person layout. The standard layout is 2x1 person, let me know with the reservation if you have a different preference. A baby travel cot with accessories is available. No city noise penetrates into the room on the terrace side, so you can enjoy a wonderfully undisturbed night's sleep in the Queen-size bed of 1.60x2.00 m. In addition to central heating, this room also has an electric fireplace with a seat and this room has a TV where you can cast from your divices with the available chrome cast. The room on the street side is very nicely decorated in a quiet romantic style with a Kingsize double bed of 200x210. When you wake up, the smell of freshly baked bread from the bakery/neighbor invites you to have breakfast and why go to Paris when you can get the croissant for breakfast on your slippers from the neighbors below and enjoy it on the sunny roof terrace. And why visit Notre Dame when this roof terrace offers a view of the most beautiful towers of the Saint John Cathedral. And why in the evening a terrace at the foot of the Sacre Coeur when the brilliantly lit towers of Saint John form a fairytale backdrop for a glass of wine on your own terrace, so quiet that you wonder if you are in the city center . My goal is to offer you a hospitable home where you really feel "at home" and where everything that can make your stay pleasant is present. The house is therefore very well equipped. Guests have access to all living areas of the entire apartment. The sunny roof terrace with garden table with a unique view of the Sint Jan is also at your disposal. If you stay 3 nights or longer, you can use the washing machine, dryer and drying lines that are located in the attic (accessible by a fixed staircase). The house is situated above a shop and has 2 floors and an attic, all accessible by a staircase. The stairwell in front of the house has a wide staircase of 3 x 5 steps with intermediate landings and is shared with 1 neighboring apartment. I will welcome you in my house where the coffee and tea are ready for you as well as a bottle of welcome wine and a bouquet of fresh flowers. After you have become familiar with the house, I am always available by phone/text/ (Hidden by Airbnb) /airbnb mail. Heart of the city means the bustle of the many restaurants, terraces and shops as soon as you step out the door. Within walking distance of theatre, cinemas and museums, the many special shops in the beautiful old town with its picturesque narrow streets, waterways and the many cozy terraces and good restaurants. In these shopping streets, you will find many special private shops, galleries and studios that provide the city with a very lively shopping pleasure and a great diversity of specialty shops; delicious bakeries/pastry shops, butchers, cheese and nut sellers, delicatessens and wine merchants. At the fresh market, which is held 3 times a week, you can buy vegetables, fruit, fish, cheese, flowers, bread and nuts. There are 3 supermarkets within walking distance for your other groceries. There is always something going on in the squares of the Markt and the Parade. At a 5-10 minute walk from my house, at the foot of the historic city wall, lies the beautiful polder area "Bossche Broek" with the impressive Sint Jan cathedral in the background. The city of 's-Hertogenbosch is the largest walled city center in the Netherlands and the ramparts have been historically restored everywhere and are therefore visible. In an hour or 2 you can walk the entire city wall and it is really worth it. The "Bossche Broek" was in swamp until (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and protected the city against invaders together with the still present defense cannons on the city walls. In (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , however, the “cities forger” Frederik Hendrik conquered the city by building watermills that drained the entire area so that his army could take the city, using the money from Piet Heyn's “silver fleet”. The “Bossche Broek” is now a beautiful wide area, intersected by branches of the Dommel and Dieze waters. Deer and roe deer are spotted early in the morning or at dusk. In addition to nature reserve, Bossche Broek is also intended for recreation where you can be active with walking, cycling, skating and jogging and there is the Zuiderplas, a public natural water with swimming, surfing and rowing opportunities. A little further on the Oosterplas is also swimming. Both waters are natural waters with a sandy beach. Adjacent to the Bossche Broek, within walking distance of 10 minutes, just outside the city walls in the beautifully landscaped, open Zuiderpark is a petting zoo and playground for the little ones and a skate-tramp for the older children. When the winter frost allows it, you can skate safely on the beautifully situated shallow Dommel (30 cm deep) below the city wall. There are many beautiful cycling routes in the immediate vicinity, the route descriptions of which are available in the apartment. The apartment is easily accessible by public transport; the station is a 15 minute walk away. During shop opening hours there is a free hop-on-hop-off city bus from the taxi rank. If you ask the driver to stop at the Zwanenbroedershuis, you are only a few meters away from my home. There is also frequent city bus transport. The P&R site "de Vliert" for which long-term parking is 4 euros per 24 hours with a free non-stop shuttle bus every 10 minutes, which stops 2 minutes from my house. Parking in the city center is limited to a maximum of one hour during store opening hours and costs 3.65 per hour. With my issued visitor parking tickets you can park for free in the city center on workdays from 6 p.m. - 9 a.m. the following day. On Thursday from 9 pm to Friday 9 am and on weekends from Saturday 6 pm to Monday 9 am. I advise you to use the P&R see above. The parking facility is offered to you subject to free parking spaces and only at the designated locations. The apartment is equipped for 4 persons. It is NOT allowed to stay in the apartment with more than one person or to receive guests during your (short) stay without having already made a request and permission upon request.
