See the stars Valdara has three types of accommodation – the Guest House & the Rustic Woolshed & Self- Contained RV’s or Caravans. Your hosts provide self check in instructions via email no later than 24 hours before your arrival, from our past experiences a lot of guests like the additional privacy, peace and serenity for the Valdara get away. Fully self- contained guest house – sleeps a couple its cosy approx 25 sqm plus the self contained bathroom - equipped with a pot belly fire to keep you warm in the winter (firewood is provided) if you prefer the open fire atmosphere. We provide a mosquito net over the bed incase those pesty bugs are around and there is also mosie coils and bug repellant if needed. Remember we are in the country, so there might be moths, bugs and of course weather dependent there will be mud and dust. In the fridge we will leave a bottle of drinking water and some butter, home made jam and home made bread. The kitchenette is equipped with microwave, fridge, gas cook top, pots, pans, dishware and glassware. Basic cooking ingredients – oil, salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, long life milk. There is a charcoal bbq on the deck (please check fire regulations). Charcoal is available in Beaufort. We are very grateful for our wonderful natural environment we live in and ask our guests to please respect it whilst visiting, water is liquid gold so if you can be conscious of your usage. We kindly ask that you turn off the HVAC unit when you are not in the cottage. We re cycle, kitchen scraps go to the chickens ( there is a blue pot to place them in ) and the rubbish is sorted to rubbish and re cycle (glass separate) it would be greatly appreciated if you can leave your rubbish accordingly. If you are with Vodafone or Telstra they have reasonable coverage in the area. We have not had experience with the other servers. When wandering around the farm, please shut the gates behind you. Coming soon - Recently the Valdara team have been putting together some “bespoke packages” for their guests who would like to learn more about the Pyrenees region and all it has to offer. You can drive your car right up to the side of the cottage. And park between the cottage and the back shed. We dont normally meet our guests as we like them to enjoy the space and fresh air and quiet. The door will be unlocked and if arriving after dark the front light will be on. Please stay on the gravel the grass is very very soggy due to extensive rain We have small dogs (which are kept in the main house during your stay), you are welcome to walk around amongst the sheep and chickens ( by appointment ) Please keep gates closed. We are close to the reserve where the local horse riding club meets, lots of beautiful local birds are around the area. At night there is a beautiful sky full of stars, you can often see the Milky Way. Beautiful sunsets over Mt Cole and sunrises are a photographers delight. A train comes into Beaufort - which is approx 12 kms away - its very easy to find, whether your coming from Ballarat direction or from Horsham direction, we are not far off the Hwy 8. - exact directions can be emailed to you. We are 43 minutes from Ballarat and 45 minutes to the Grampians. Only 10 kms to beautiful Beaufort lake - where you can fish and enjoy the recently installed Koorie Arts Trail. The Beaufort Town Market operates the 4th Saturday of each month from November to May. Dont forget to check out the new #pyr (Email hidden by Airbnb) Perfectly positioned just 2 hours from Melbourne CBD, half way between Ballarat & Ararat, 30 minutes from the world renowned Grampians in the heart of the Pyrenees Shire an emerging wine region. We are 5 minutes from Cave Hill Creek, and 10 minutes from Mt Cole and Beerimpo nature walks. Annual events in Beaufort - such as the Arts Festival early June, Rainbow Serpent Festival, January, the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally (May & November), every 2nd year is the Open Garden at Eurambeen Historic Homestead, and there are other food and wine events scattered through-out the year. There is also the new Pyreneesfarmgatetrail that includes artisans, wineries and produce. Valdara offers you the opportunity to take a break from your daily city life, an chance to reset. Take a leisurely walk around the paddocks, meet the Valdara sheep family including Uncle Fonzie, the chooks, the wild ducks on the dam. Find a place to sit and draw, paint, write or meditate with wonderful views of Mt Cole. On a clear night the amazing sky is full of stars and the milky way is very clear. You will often see a falling star. Local tourism events and offering information is provided in the room. If you are coming to Beaufort / Raglan region for a wedding at one our great local venues – Cave hill Creek ( 5 minutes away) or Eurambeen Historic Homestead (10 minutes away) Valdara is perfectly situated. 10 minutes from Valdara is the renowned Mt Cole / Beerimpo State forest known for its beautiful vista’s, fascinating bush walks, amazing flora and fauna. Visitors to our region, also enjoying horse riding, mountain bike riding, bushwalking, bird watching.
