Well-equipped kitchen with microwave and fridge, cooker, toaster, kettle etc. Tea and Coffee supplies. Wifi and a smart TV with its own Netflix guest account for when you want to relax indoors. No Smoking anywhere on the premises, thank you. The cottage & private enclosed courtyard garden is for guests' own use. The property is entered via a shared walled courtyard which leads into a larger shared garden area. The owner's chickens are in this garden, so dogs need to be on a lead here. Guests are welcome to enjoy this garden space, which has some views over the Levels. The owners are across the communal courtyard and are often around. Social distancing will be in place your entire stay. They are always very happy to help if advice on the local area is needed. However please do not expect to meet them in person due to current COVID restrictions (we're sorry!) Langport is a tiny town with a big heart and heaps of history. It supports independent shops and services, and has great eco-credentials, with cafes and restaurants that range from quirky to trendy to traditional. There's a creative culture too, with workshops from printing to glass-blowing, drop-in dance classes and regular live music events, often with a vintage vibe. There's a monthly vintage and artisan markets and a weekly country market. People are friendly and very relaxed here, appreciating the incredible tranquility of the river being set right beside the convenience of a High Street. With various places to enjoy a pint or two of Somerset cider - including the famous Rose and Crown (or Eli's as it is locally known) - within walking distance, there's no need to worry about getting a taxi home either. It's also very dog friendly - lots of people here have dogs so they are welcome in most of the cafes and restaurants. Nearest train stations are Yeovil, Castle Cary and Taunton, each approx 30 mins away by car. There is a bus station in Langport by the Library, bus travel to larger towns is possible but a limited service. Parking in the Town is free for 2 hours. The surrounding area is very flat and popular with cyclists, so don't discount that as a means of getting around! No on-site parking, but free on-street parking is available on the road outside the property.
