A beautiful island with wonderful walks and unspoilt beaches offering a place to relax ,get creative,walk, cycle, kayak,swim, horse ride, play golf,go fishing and enjoy the wilds of Scotland- only a 30 min ferry ride across the water.Glasgow and Edinburgh are within easy access The flat is light and airy with original floorboards and an open fire.The large bay window in the sitting room offers the chance to sit and while away the day enjoying the view ,spotting wildlife and watching the starlit night time skies. The kitchen looks out on to the woodland beyond which is easily accessed by a 5 min stroll heading left outside building , past The Kettledrum Cafe on the corner and up the hill. Quality bed linen, Scottish Sea Kelp toiletries , a wireless speaker, yoga mats and a well equipped kitchen provide a home from home experience. If you are feeling inspired ,there are plenty of creative materials in the flat which you are welcome to use during your stay such as fabrics, wool, oil pastels,origami and beads and so much more. The flat is available as a whole I am based in Dorset but am available by phone, text and email. The town is a few minutes walk away and provides all the amenities you will need for your stay. In my experience, the locals are really friendly and always helpful - there is a real sense of community. The Castle, Mount Stuart and the Fernery are all worth a visit.The cinema is based at the Discovery Centre and has daily screenings at 7.30 pm .The films change on a Thursday evening and there is a matinee on a Sundays. Check opening times for all amenities above due to seasonal opening and Covid 19. For the more adventurous, check out the Wild about Argyll website which offers opportunities to forage, kayak,explore, wild swim and much more. There is plenty of wildlife on land and along the coast including seals, dolphins and occasionally whales. For creatives , there are beading, art and sewing workshops on the island -just ask me for details.There are also plenty of creative materials in the flat if you’re feeling inspired. If you are a keen beachcomber,then the beaches are the islands jewel in the crown.😜 There’s a frequent circular bus service which provides access to the majority of the island without needing a car or if you prefer ,there’s a taxi rank just by the ferry terminal. During the summer months, an open top tour bus operates a service around the island as well as a Victorian paddle steamer. Be prepared- the flat is on the 4 th floor so plenty of stairs to climb but well worth it once you see the views.There is no lift in the building.You can leave bikes and pushchairs in the shed at the back of the shared garden which you can reach through the green door at the bottom of the stairs. The property is non smoking so do respect this rule for future guests.If you wish to smoke please do so outside the building rather than out of the flat window. There is an open fire which guests are welcome to use .The first nights supply of logs are provided.More logs can be purchased from the local ironmongers in town.Please ensure you place the diffused in front of the fire if left unattended. From Oct 15 th 2021, there will be scaffolding up for a period of time on the front of the building which needs repointing.The job will be completed as quickly as possible and hopefully the scaffolding won’t obscure the views .
