We have lived in the house for many years and know the area well Kirkmichael is a charming, traditional West of Scotland village set in the beautiful rolling hills of South Ayrshire. The Kirkmichael Arms with good food is a short 5 minutes walk away. It is 15 minutes to stunning beaches with views to Arran and the Mull of Kintyre. Local places to explore within 30 minutes include Culzean Castle, Dumfries House, recently conserved by Prince Charles, Robert Burns' Birthplace in Alloway. TrumpTurnberry, Prestwick and Troon Golf courses plus as range of public courses are equally near. The county town, Ayr is 10 miles away with good rail connections to Glasgow. The train service to Ayr and Maybole is good and there are nearby taxi firms who can be booked. Local bus transport is quite limited so a car is helpful. The area is excellent for cycling and is popular with cycle clubs, especially the Ayrshire Alps routes. There are good local walks including the Ayrshire Coastal path and Straiton walkways. We provide basics such as milk, tea, sugar, coffee, oil, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc. If you prefer, the local cafe does a great breakfast and snacks and is five minutes walk. I am an interior designer and my husband, Patrick, is an architect. He was born in the area and we have lived here for 30 years after a time in London. We love our house and garden and the village and look forward to sharing it with you.
