Rob and Phil welcome you to our grade 2 listed house which has been decorated to a high standard with many unique features. 1 minute walk from the Maes Manor Hotel. Free parking on drive. Wifi, tea, coffee and basic breakfast provided. Use of beautiful garden and outside tap with hose. Very quiet area and beautiful views surrounding the house. . We have decorated and furnished our listed house to a high standard with unique features and classic furniture. There is an open, working fireplace in the dining room which creates a cozy atmosphere. Shallow staircase is easy to climb and the views from all windows are of surrounding countryside. The large garden has a number of seating areas, flower borders and vegetable gardens. The living room and other bedrooms are private, otherwise guests have full access around the house. In the kitchen guests can use the kettle, microwave, toaster and air fryer, but use of the cooker is restricted. Cups, glasses, plates, cutlery etc can be used too, but please clean up after yourself. Please discuss by email before arrival if you have any special requests. I work part-time and my partner works in England 4 days a week so it will usually be me who greets you. I am generally available for any questions or if you need anything in the morning and later afternoon. Guests are left to come and go as they please. Although the living room is private and the kitchen is heat and eat only, guests who are here for longer stays can negotiate use of other areas of the house and fuller use of the kitchen. Walking distance to two local pubs serving good food. Area has a variety of walks, a pond, rivers and countryside nearby. The house is in easy reach of the high street that has bars, restaurants, a cinema and a variety of shops. There is also a large supermarket and a number of fast food outlets. House is within easy drive of Cardiff and Newport, the historic town of Abergavenny and Brecon and the beacons. The Ystrad Mynach hospital is just 4 miles away. Bus stop at the bottom of the hill and Blackwood bus station in the nearby high street with links to stations and many parts of Wales. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill that goes to Newport and Blackwood bus station. The bus station has links all over the area - Caerphilly, Ystrad Mynach etc. There are 3 train stations nearby with links to Cardiff. These are not within walking distance. However there is a reasonable and reliable taxi service in the area.
