Beach Cottage at Alkimos - Bed & Breakfast

Pretty beach cottage located in the heart of a six star energy rated community, a short walk to an idyllic beach with endless white sands. The house is bright, light and cheerful. The accommodation is within the owners home. King bed in the main bedroom. Walk-in robe and private bathroom. Private sitting room with daybed, TV, Apple TV, table/chairs, fridge, kettle, toaster, and a welcome pack of milk, bread, cereal and biscuits with tea/coffee is supplied. Staying at my cottage gives you a private space within my home. In the guest area you will have your own bedroom, a sitting room and bathroom, segregated from the main part of the house. The area is quiet, with a park directly opposite the house, a public exercise park next door, short walks to the beach, local shops, and the train station is 5 minutes drive away, linking you to the centre of Perth in just 40 minutes or nearby Joondalup in 15 minutes. The train goes directly from Butler railway station, through Perth, all the way through to Mandurah which is a popular beachside city about an hour south of Perth. The Alkimos Beach community is an innovative six star energy rated community that has won many awards and uses extensive solar power with community battery storage systems to minimise our footprint on the environment. There are good walk paths around and convenient cycle paths to encourage community traffic. Yanchep National Park is a 10 minute drive away and offers extensive bush walks, kangaroos in the morning and evenings, and a koala park. There are many beaches in the vicinity, and local cafes to explore. You can walk either way along the beach and find either The Beach House or Oceans 27 for your early morning coffee or a good day and evening menu. There is no use of the kitchen or laundry facilities in the main house. Although this is a reasonably new neighbourhood, it is fast becoming a popular destination for those people that want to lower their footprint on the environment. The area has been designed to encourage walking and cycling and therefore creating the setting to meet neighbours and other locals. The new fitness park has recently been completed next to my house to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle and Alkimos Beach is the first surf safe community in Australia. The local beach is stunning and allows you to stroll along the sand for a lazy breakfast at the Shore Cafe/Oceans 27 and the ability to walk off all that food on the way back. Mindarie Marina is a ten minute drive away and has restaurants to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the Indian Ocean. There is a bus route at the main road, which is a 10 minute walk away from the house, and links to the railway station. Uber is available in the area, and bikes and walking are also common. There are on-street parking bays for public use in front of the house and across the road.
