St. Andrews Cabin with a View

Our newly built Cabin is the perfect place for a stay when coming to St Andrews. The property is situated 3 miles outside of St. Andrews, with direct bus routes into St. Andrews, Leuchars train station and Dundee. The Cabin is within an equestrian centre, with free parking available for several vehicles. Riding lessons can be included in your stay. The patio gets the sun most of the day with stunning views across the estuary. Bedroom A large bright bedroom with windows overlooking the garden and estuary. The bed can be made into two singles or one superking. Additionally, there is an Ikea Z bed/lounge chair that can pull out into another single bed. There is also a clothing rack with hangers and a chest of drawers. There are two plug-in electric heaters in the bedroom. Bathroom The bathroom consists of a bath with an overhead shower, a toilet and a wash hand basin. There is also underfloor heating which can remain on constantly throughout your stay if preferred. I do leave out some shampoo, conditioner and body wash incase you forget to bring your own! There are of course hand wash, toilet roll, towels and bath mats. Living room/Kitchen The living area consists of a large couch, armchair and TV with Freeview channels. There is also a dining table with 4 chairs and a wood - burning fireplace/stove. We provide you with logs, kindling and firelighters as well as help to light the fire if you need it. As an alternative, there is a plug-in electric heater. The French windows in the living room open out onto the decking that overlooks the fenced horse paddocks and estuary. There are friendly ponies in the nearby fields that sometimes will be moved to and from this area during your stay. The kitchen includes fridge freezer, hob and oven with other amenities such as a kettle, toaster, cutlery and dishes. We have pots and pans as well as chopping boards and a strainer. We currently do not have a microwave but hope to have one soon! There are tea and instant coffee provided and I will ask you before your arrival what type of milk you would prefer to have in the fridge for your stay so I can have this ready for you. Salt, pepper and cooking oil are also available. While there is no washing machine, I do include details of the local laundry facilities in St. Andrews in the 'welcome pack' for those booking a longer stay. Outdoors You will have exclusive access to the large garden outside of the cabin, as well as the patio, decking and outdoor furniture. There is free private parking next to the cabin. When booking the listing, you have exclusive access to the entire cabin, patio and garden. Strictly no access to the nearby workshops at anytime and no access to the riding stables after dark. I would be grateful if you can understand that if found in breach of these rules, your booking will be cancelled and we will ask you to vacate the premises. You are more than welcome to take a walk around the yard during the day provided you adhere to safety principals around the horses, clients and machinery. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the cabin, through the riding stables and up the track to the top of the main road. This bus runs every 15 minutes and takes you into St. Andrews (and over to Dundee and Leuchars Train Station the other way). St Andrews is approx 3 miles from the cabin. There are also taxi services and I provide a couple of numbers for them in the welcome pack when you arrive. There is a cycle/jogging path from the stables all the way into St. Andrews. The nearest village is Guardbridge, with a small shop that sells alcohol, food and the basics - this is a 20 minute walk from the cabin or a 2 minute drive in the car. Larger shops such as Tesco, Aldi and Morrisons can be found in St. Andrews. The nearest train station is in Leuchars which is a 6 minute drive from the cabin. From Leuchars station you will find direct trains to Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen. The cabin is on the site of a riding stables. Guardbridge The nearest village is Guardbridge, with a small shop that sells alcohol, food and the basics - this is a 20 minute walk from the cabin or a 2 minute drive in the car. There is also a park in the village For food, The Guardbridge Inn is a family run bar and restaurant only a 10 minute walk away. In addition to this, there is Dali's Fish and Pizza bar that does a superb fish supper. There is free private parking besides the cabin. There is heavy machinery being operated daily and plenty of horses around. It is a working environment however the cabin is situated in a secluded area on the grounds. I aim to provide a 5 star stay for all of my guests and will do my best to accommodate any special requests that you may have, such as a later check-out time or luggage drop-offs.
