With uninterrupted views over the stunning rolling hills of the Dorset countryside, the Shepherds Hut is set in 11 acres of Wynards Farm a small holding. The hut has a small kitchen with hob, sink and fridge. A woodburning stove to get cosy in the evening. A private wetroom with Separett Villa 9000 eco-toilet and shower next door. There is a BBQ/fire pit to spend lovely quiet evenings outside under the stars with no light pollution. Breakfast hamper on request tailored to your taste and budget with locally sourced foods and homemade marmalade and jams (charges apply). Or breakfast in the main house (charges apply). The hut is set in Wynards Farm small holding which also offers guest accommodation at the main house. There is parking close by to the hut although you can park outside to unload. There is space for storing bikes. We are up a track and there are footpaths and bridle ways that leave straight from the property. My husband, Ray, and I run Wynards Farm with the help of our daughter, Annabel and her partner Lee, therefore, guests are greeted and shown the Shepherds Hut. We offer maps and literature and offer the "local secrets" of picturesque routes and places. Most of our guests enjoy the privacy of having their own space so you can be left to your own devices and just leave the key in the door when you leave. Although there is usually someone around if needed. Sometimes we can offer lifts to the pub or beach if needed. We love where we live here at Wynards Farm. We have been here 31 years. It is quite unique being a little bit off the beaten track but close to the local amenities. You can walk to the pub a mile away or the village shop half a mile which has a great stock of local produce. Winfrith is a traditional, picturesque village. The views are wonderful and you can watch the sunset from the back of the property on the small decking view point. Or wake up to the sunrise over the church tower. We are not far from the famous Jurassic coast featuring Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove just a 5 minute drive. Monkey World and The Tank Museum are ten minutes away. The Saxon walled town of Wareham, Thomas Hardy's Dorchester and the beaches of Weymouth are fifteen minutes away. We are a very quiet location. Wool, 2 1/2 miles away, is the nearest train station. Here you can get a taxi to us or if we are around we can sometimes pick guests up. There are buses in the spring and summer that run from the end of the village to Weymouth and Poole. A welcome supply of logs is left for guests for the first evening. More logs are charged and we operate a help yourself with an honesty box. A folder is provided for guests with many suggestions of places to eat and things to do. We can also offer use of our freezer for ice blocks and have cool bags for guests to borrow. PLEASE BE AWARE THERE IS NO WIFI CONNECTION TO THE SHEPHERD'S HUT. Dogs are welcome and there is a charge per dog per night.
